I am a friend of SFC McCain. Bryant was a soldier’s soldier; right where he wanted to be. We saw him this past month on his mid-tour home in Alaska.

You’re gonna be missed brutha- you took care of your troops and loved your kids and country fiercely.

Pereda and another guy were medivac’d out the day before from this same spot; badly burned.

From your fellow non-comm and friend,

    MDSchwartz, USAF, TSgt (Ret.)

SFC Jonathan B. McCain, my close friend my brother in arms you are missed by so many. You believed in your cause, you cared deeply about the welfare of your men and trained them to be prepared. You loved your family with as much passion as anyone could and you cared about your friends and their well being, I have first hand knowledge of that. You checked on my health even from your deployment. Bryant I will never forget you and I will watch ovr the family as always as long as they need me.

    Fred
