The campaign season moves ever closer to the Iowa Caucuses, as yet another Democratic candidate, Senator Cory Booker, exits the stage. Booker’s campaign never took off, and his poll numbers have been holding steady well below 5% for months. Senator Bernie Sanders is in hot water again after telling Senator Elizabeth Warren that a woman can’t be elected President. And, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has delivered the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate, along with new evidence into potential wrongdoing, while Trump continues to slur threats to use executive privilege for any witnesses called in his Senate impeachment trial. Exactly the tactic any innocent man would take.

So, where are things as we stumble closer to Iowa? Nationally, former Vice-President Joe Biden continues to lead the pack for the Democratic Party nomination.

The Economist/YouGov poll, conducted 11-14 January 2020, of 1,500 adults places the current rankings as such:

Joe Biden 27%
Bernie Sanders 20%
Elizabeth Warren 19%
Pete Buttigieg 7%
Mike Bloomberg 5%
Amy Klobuchar, and Andrew Yang 3%
Tulsi Gabbard 2%
Tom Steyer 1%

In the SurveyUSA poll, conducted 14-16 January 2020, surveying over 5,000 registered voters, has the Democratic race lining up thus:

Biden 32%
Sanders 21%
Warren 14%
Buttigieg, and Bloomberg 9%
Yang 4%
Steyer 3%
Klobuchar, and Gabbard 2%

In the Hill/Harris poll, conducted from 13-14 January 2020 of 1,001 registered voters:

Biden 29%
Sanders 19%
Warren 11%
Bloomberg 7%
Buttigieg 4%
Klobuchar, and Steyer 3%

According to recent polling data available, if the election were today, odds are any of the top three Democrat contenders would be the 46th President of the United States, and Trump, who remains the 3^rd man in U.S. history to be impeached, will still go down as one of the most hopeless and depraved persons to ever sit in the Oval Office. While Warren and Sanders are losing ground in heads-up polling state-to-state, former Vice-President Biden continues to build his polling lead over Trump.
