Va. Lawmaker: Disabled Kids are God’s Punishment for Abortion
CBS News has reported that Republican Tea Party (GOTP) Virginia State Delegate Bob Marshall recently said at a press conference that God’s taking “vengeance” on parents who have had abortions by making their other children disabled, according to the News Leader in Central Virginia.
“The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically,” he reportedly said. “Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children.”
“In the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord,” he added. “There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest.”
Marshall posted a statement on his Web site distancing himself from the comments.
“No one who knows me or my record would imagine that I believe or intended to communicate such an offensive notion,” he wrote. “I have devoted a generation of work to defending disabled and unwanted children, and have always maintained that they are special blessings to their parents. Nevertheless, I regret any misimpression my poorly chosen words may have created as to my deep commitment to fighting for these vulnerable children and their families.”
Any misimpression his poorly chosen words might have created? He said, “The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children.”
No way to be misimpressed by those words; Marshall’s just one more angry uber-conservative tea party addled dolt who needs to step away from public service and crawl back under his rock and take his so-called “Christian” values with him.
As the father of two children with disabilities, and the husband of a woman who never had an abortion, I don’t accept your pitiful excuse of an apology, I can’t hear your words Representative Marshall because your hypocrisy is drowning them out.
Beck’s anti-Semitism drove him from the airwaves?
So, FOX PAC finally came to the conclusion Glenn Beck’s vitriol was even too extreme for its viewers, and that he was becoming too big of a liability? Well good for FOX, at least its proven it will only sell out so far.
With the end of the Bush/Cheney era of doom and gloom (which was a perfect breeding ground for Beck’s non stop Chicken Little hyperbole), and as the nation’s economic woes began to turn around, Beck’s apocalyptic conspiracies became less persuasive, and his audience began to drift away. With his followers beginning to drift away, Beck did the only thing he could, he became shriller and shriller. Ironically, it was his shrillness which ultimately led to his dismissal at FOX PAC. Of course, when you become too unhinged even for FOX it’s probably well past time to seek some serious professional help.
As Beckies cries became ever more high-pitched he pushed further into the dark corners of conspiracy, urging his viewers to hoard food and stock pile gold in preparation for the end of civilization as we know it, for the time when dogs and cats would be living together.
His deranged tales spun a wild conspiracy theory of the American left being in cahoots with an emerging caliphate in the Middle East. His rantings became filled with anti-Semitic themes backed by the infamous conspiracy theorist G. Edward Griffin – who has publicly argued that the anti-Semitic tract “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” “accurately describes much of what is happening in our world today”.
But Beckster’s anti-Semitic raves didn’t end there, he’s also described Reform rabbis as “generally political in nature,” adding: “It’s almost like Islam, radicalized Islam in a way.” He’s also regularly attacked Jewish billionaire George Soros, a Holocaust survivor, as a “puppet master” and read descriptions of him as an “unscrupulous profiteer” who “sucks the blood from people.” Beck falsely called Soros “a collaborator” with Nazis who “saw people into the gas chambers.”
On top of attacking Jews, he’s also repeatedly made comments about the President, claiming that President Obama, “has a deep seated hatred of white people,” and is a racist.
It’s all part of what Beck’s FOX PAC colleague Shepard Smith has dubbed the “fear chamber.”
Beck’s career is fast going the way of other broadcasting Dodos, and in losing his mass-media perch, he is following the same path as Father Charles Coughlin, a path that hopefully one day will also be trod upon by Savage, Limbaugh, Hannity and other have wits who regularly spread fear and hate over the airways.
Army, Marine chiefs cast doubt on gay service?
“If the law is changed, successfully implementing repeal and assimilating openly homosexual Marines into the tightly woven fabric of our combat units has strong potential for disruption at the small unit level, as it will no doubt divert leadership attention away from an almost singular focus of preparing units for combat,” the Marine commandant, Gen. James Amos, told the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Come on General. Really?
Why didn’t you say what you were really thinking, “Plus, I have a big problem with taking a shower with other Marines knowing who might be sizing me up,” Gen Amos added, “I enjoy my showers much more when I don’t know who might be sizing me up, it’s much more exciting, the suspense is quite literally over the top!”
Gen Amos, Gen Casey and Sen McCain are all bigots. No other way to say it.

What is disruptive numb nuts is having to waste time and money breaking up units by dismissing highly trained and dedicated troops during a time of war because bigoted homophobic morons like yourself, Gen Casey and Senator McCain are insecure about your own sexuality.
Note to all three of you: It’s time for you fossils to step down. We are living in a new era when our Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Sailors are not intimidated by who is or who is not gay.
Limbaugh Isn’t Just a Liar, but He’s Disgusting Too
During his infamous radio broadcast yesterday – Thursday, 27 Aug 09 – Rush Limbaugh took another step toward eventually losing his radio show while discussing so-called “fake” vandalism by Democrats in Colorado.
Limbaugh said that it turned out the vandal was a transgender anarchist. But of course our red neck country boy from Missouri couldn’t leave it at that. No, our boy Rush had to be as disgusting as possible in discussing the story.
“Now, I don’t know if this was an add-a-dick-to-me transgender or a chop-a-dick-off-of-me transgender,” Limbaugh quipped.
So, how is it that all you fine, upstanding, right-wing Republican Christians can listen to someone use this kind of language, in this kind of way, and think it’s OK?
I guess it’s acceptable to be disgusting and degrading if you’re attacking someone you personally loathe.
