Latest 2016 Presidential Polls – 27 July 2015 Edition
The 2016 Presidential Election season continues to move into crazy mode – the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) clown bus continues to swerve all over the political road – while the Democratic Party plods steadily forward.
Where are things as we slide towards August of the 2016 campaign season?
Nationally, Donald Trump continues to lead the GOTP pack – five polls in a row from 9 July to 25 July, he is the current snake oil salesman and the GOTP is loving what he’s selling.
In the most recent polls, the CNN/ORC Poll, conducted by telephone of 1,017 “registered voters” from July 22 to 25, 2015 has the seating in the GOTP Clown Bus lining up as follows:
Donald Trump 18%
Jeb Bush 15%
Scott Walker 10%
Ted Cruz, the Junior Senator for Ottawa 7%
Marco Rubio and Rand Paul 6%
Mike Huckabee 5%
Ben Carson, Chris Christie and John Kasich 4%
Rick Perry 3%
Rick Santorum and Bobby Jindal 2%
Carly Fiorina and Lindsey Graham 1%
The PPP (D) Poll, conducted by telephone of 1,087 “registered voters” from July 20 to 21, 2015 has the GOTP Clown Bus lining up this way:
Trump leads at 19%
Walker 17%
Bush 12%
Rubio and Carson 10%
Huckabee 8%
Cruz, Paul and Fiorina 4%
Christie and Kasich 3%
Perry, Santorum and Jindal 1%
Graham at 0%
Trump is currently in second place, behind Walker, in a NBC/Marist Poll in Iowa, but leads in the same poll in New Hampshire.
According to the rules of the first Republican/Tea Party 2016 Debate sponsored by Fox News and set for 6 August 2015, only candidates who place in the top 10 in an average of the five most recent national polls prior to the event will be on the stage.
The averages for the 16 contenders in the GOTP Happy Meal Box are as follows:
1 – Trump 18.2%
2 – Bush 13.7%
3 – Walker 11.7%
4 – Rubio 6.8%
5 – Huckabee 6%
6 – Carson 6%
7 – Cruz 5.7%

The 2016 Presidential Election season grinds forward – the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) clown car has graduated into the 2016 GOTP Clown Bus (probably a 1960’s era VW Bus) currently 16 occupants at last count – past, I am sure, critical mass – while the Democratic Party drags along, picking up a contender here and a contender there.
Where are things as we slide past the first mid-July point of the 2016 campaign season? Funny you should ask (clown honking horn in the background).
Nationally, in two polls the crown prince of GOTP comedy – “The Donald” – has taken the lead.
A Suffolk University/USA Today Poll, conducted by telephone of “registered voters” from July 9 to 12, 2015 has the GOTP Clown Bus lining up thus:
Donald Trump has jumped out to the lead at 17%
Jeb Bush 14%
Scott Walker 8%
Ted Cruz, the Junior Senator for Ottawa 6%
Marco Rubio 5%
Ben Carson, Rand Paul, and Mike Huckabee 4%
Chris Christie 3%
Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, John Kasich, Bobby Jindal, and Carly Fiorina 1%
Lindsey Graham is bringing up the rear at 0%
Not to be outdone, a Fox News Poll, conducted by telephone of “registered voters” from July 13 to 15, 2015 has the GOTP Clown Bus lining up this way:
Trump leads at 18%
Walker moves up in the seating chart to 15%
Bush falls to third at 14%
Paul 8%
Rubio 7%
Carson 6%
Huckabee and Cruz 4%
Christie 3%
Santorum and Kasich 2%
Perry and Fiorina 1%
Jindal and Graham are sweeping up after the parade at 0%
Trump is also currently in second place behind Walker in a Monmouth Poll in Iowa.

The Future is Now…
I have been a Redskins fan my entire life, but as Coach Allen would have said, “The future is now.”
The team’s name could be changed to the “Washington Federals” to honor the Union Army of the Potomac which defended Washington during the Civil War. It would be a name Washington could be proud of, and would have a cultural and historical tie to the city. Yes, there was a USFL team known by that team, but they were only around for one season.
The point is, find a name tied to the city and move on from this name.

The 2016 Presidential Election season moves microscopically forward – the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) clown car continues to pick up occupants, currently 16 at last count – fast approaching critical mass – while the Democratic Party drags along, picking up few contenders.
Where are things as we move into the first July of the 2016 campaign season?
Nationally, a CNN/Opinion Research Poll, conducted by telephone of “registered voters” from June 26 to 28, 2015
Has the GOTP Clown Car lining up thus:
Jeb Bush leading the pack at 19%
Donald Trump (interestingly enough for a xenophobe) at 12%
Mike Huckabee 8%
Ben Carson and Rand Paul 7%
Scott Walker and Marco Rubio 6%

Ted Cruz, Chris Christie, and Rick Santorum 3%
John Kasich and Bobby Jindal 2%

One has to wonder
One has to wonder what Donald Trump’s problem is.
Was he dropped on his head, multiple times, and kicked as a child?
First, he mocks the entire nation of Mexico, and now he mocks anyone who has ever been a Prisoner of War (POW) declaring in an appearance in Iowa, “He’s (John McCain) not a war hero,” said Trump. “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
He likes “people who weren’t captured?”
What exactly is his problem? Men and woman who were captured are not – in his pinheaded opinion – heroes? He only likes people “who weren’t captured?”
So, he does not like the 132,096 POWs from World War II through today?
How does the draft dodging Trump feel about America’s 32,404 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines who are Missing in Action (MIA)? Does the man who received four educational deferments and one so-called medical deferment for a bone spur he cannot remember in which foot say, “I don’t like people who get lost?”
Trump is a clown in a primary full of clowns. He is the prince of the clowns, and he is leading in multiple Republican/Tea Party (GOTP) polls nationally. Many of his fellow candidates were quick to denounce his attack on McCain, but many of those same candidates failed to respond to his damning statements about Mexicans being “rapists” and “criminals.” Makes you wonder if these same individuals would have jumped on his case if McCain’s last name had been Rodriguez?
Trump’s comments about Mexicans and now on POWs might play well with the majority of the GOTP, but they do not play well with anyone else, and the “anyone else” is the majority of Americans.
