The Associated Press (AP) is reporting Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential hopeful Newton Leroy Gingrich told a Jewish cable channel that Palestinians are an “invented” people and that they are really Arabs who chose not to live elsewhere.

The Jewish Channel released excerpts of an interview in which the former House speaker says there was no Palestine as a state and that the residents there were part of the Ottoman Empire before the creation of the state of Israel.

Not true Newton; the United Nations 1947 decision to partition Palestine, created two states; the first was Israel and the second? Anyone? Bueller? It was Palestine. The fact the Palestinian leaders at the time chose not to accept the mandate is why there’s been no Palestinian state.

Gingrich says Palestinians were historically part of the Arab community and that they had a chance to go many places.

Well, and the Jews who immigrated to the Holy Land were Europeans who were historically a part of Europe and they too had a chance to go many places.

Gingrich says the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians has been, quote, “delusional.” He says President Barack Obama’s effort to treat the Palestinians the same as the Israelis is actually, as he puts it, “favoring the terrorists.”

And Gingrich also admitted that his head comes to a point.

For Pete’s sake, how many times are we going to have to listen to the GOTP wannabes whine about how the President isn’t supporting Israel enough – even though he’s done more than any Republican ever has – and how the Palestinians aren’t “real people”?

Did Newton actually say, “Palestinians are an ‘invented’ people and that they are really Arabs who chose not to live elsewhere”? What does he think Americans are? There were no Americans before 1776. Someone might as easily say, “Americans are an ‘invented’ people and that they are really British citizens who chose not to live elsewhere”.

As a historian Newton sucks, as a presidential candidate he sucks more, and if by some curse upon our land he were elected then that would really suck.
