According to the Huffington Post, televangelist Pat Robertson said on his show “The 700 Club,” that the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) has become a bit too extreme.
Robertson reportedly quoted Lyndon Johnson when he found himself being pushed from the moderate center, “Don’t these people realize that if they push me over to an extreme position, I’ll lose the election?”
Robertson said if candidates venture into heavily radical territory, it could cost Republicans the general election.
“Those people in the Republican primary have got to lay off of this stuff,” he exclaimed. “If they want to lose, this is the game for losers.”
This should be a clarion wake up call to the GOTP contenders; you know you’ve gone too far into weeds when Pat Robertson says you’ve become too extreme to win.
