Mr. Bundy, maybe you should hone up on your Revolutionary history. Our Continental Army was successful in large part due to the aid received from other nations, especially France, who provided personnel, munitions, materiel, and Naval support to block the British … who is to say, if we ever needed to throw off a tyrannical Fed “guv’mint,” that an ally (or several) might not enter the fray? Give it a rest – SCOTUS affirmed our individual rights to bear arms as well (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/28/AR2010062802134.html).

And so that precludes any future alliances if need be to throw off a tyrannical government? Suggest you also re-read some history of the amendment – good study here from the Valpraiso Law Review … “the original intent of the Second Amendment was to protect each individual’s right to keep and bear arms, and to guarantee that individuals acting collectively could throw off the yokes of any oppressive government which might arise. Thus, the right envisioned was not only the right to be armed, but to be armed at a level equal to the government.”
