With 58 days to go until Election Day, Vice President Kamala Harris is leading against the twice impeached, convicted felon Donald Trump in most current polling. The election was turned on its ear when President Joe Biden stepped aside in July and threw his weight behind his VP. Harris picked a governor, former member of the House, former high school coach, and social studies teacher as well as a 24-year veteran of the National Guard as her running mate, Tim Walz. Trump picked a 40-year-old freshman senator from Ohio, a total sycophant, JD Vance. Trump has posed for political photos and videos over the graves of fallen Marines in Arlington Cemetery, is awaiting sentencing, and faces three additional trials. Trump (78) is rambling incoherent sentences whenever he speaks, and Harris and Trump are poised to face off in possibly the only Presidential Debate of the year this Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
So, with 58 days until November 5th, where do we stand?
In national polling, the latest NY Times/Siena Poll, conducted between 3-6 September 2024 of 1,695 “likely voters,” has the election lining up like this:
Trump 48%
Harris 47%
According to the Emerson Poll, conducted between 3-4 September 2024 of 1,000 “likely voters:”
Harris 49%
Trump 47%
In the Morning Consult Poll, conducted from 2-4 September 2024 of 11,414 “likely voters:”
Harris 49%
Trump 46%

As far as the national race for the White House is concerned, according to recent state polling data available, if the election was today, odds are that Vice President Harris would be the 47th President of the United States, while Trump, who forever remains the only twice-impeached convicted former president in U.S. history, will go down as having lost two elections in a row.
