I was born here, raised my family here, taught in its schools and served in its military; only to find out we’ve all been misspelling its name?
And we all have the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential candidate Willard Mitt Romney to thank for pointing this out to us; it seems Willard’s actually running for President of the United States of “Amercia.”
In what can only be described as a major political faux paw of epic embarrassing proportions, Willard’s campaign misspelled the word “America” on its new “With Mitt” iPhone app.
The app has a transparent skin allowing users to take a photograph and superimpose the slogan “A better Amercia” on the image.
According to the Associated Press (AP) the twitter world’s full of comments on the mistake, “Whew, I hear Mitt’s updating that misspelled Amercia on his app. He’s just going with Untied States now,” read one tweet.
“Does Mitt Romney believe that Obama was born in Keyna,” another tweeter jabbed.
The “A better Amercia” skin is just one of 14 on the user-friendly app. Most of them include the phrase “I’m With Mitt” at the bottom.
“We thought this would be a fun, easy way to showcase support,” Romney’s digital director Zac Moffatt told Mashable.com when asked about the launch of the app.
Congrats Zac, people are definitely having fun with this app; two words, “spell check”.

Amercia is a Place. Amercia is a concept…. everyone has missed the point! Mercia was the kingdom wherein King John consented,as Regent, Ruler, King, to be subject to the same laws as the subjects…. Not many remember the Magna Charta/Carta…. 1215 was the Year when those “petty amercements” were to be eliminated and the concept of “equality” was established.
You/WE have been spelling it wrong in concept and meaning. We are somewhat of a “mindless people.” in this New “Dark Age” when we have a near “telepathy” with current communications.
I voted for Mitt who could neither sell nor spell. Most take no interest in the welfare of these United States, including most of the Politicians. Most never knew or have long forgotten that “Teddy” Roosevelt got Workmans Compensation enacted- a Republican who told the “Robber Barons” in 1903 to: “get yourselves out of the mess you have created… do not look to the Government to bail you out….” Most have forgotten that workman’s compensation included health benefits and that he considered health care for all. Most have forgotten that Republican Richard Nixon fot ERISA and the Welfare Benefit Acts enacted….. They were some of the real Republicans who “promoted the general welfare….and tried to secure the blessings of liberty…” for America and eliminate the amercements imposed by our petty politicians with limited vision and self-service instead of those intended purposes set forth in the Preamble to our Constitution.
I love Amercia!
