At one time, we were. I memorized that poem when I was young. I thought the United States of America was a welcoming place. I knew my two grandfathers came from England and Germany and here is where they grew their families, and because they did, my parents were born. But apparently, we are not so welcoming any more. Is there anyone in Congress who can convince the granddaughter of immigrants that she isn’t correct?
