Romney says Gingrich campaign’s a sitcom?

According to the Associated Press (AP), Republican Tea Party (GOTP) perpetual presidential bridesmaid, Mittens Romney is comparing Newton Gingrich’s campaign to the 1950’s sitcom, “I Love Lucy”.

Mittens mewed about Newton during a stop in New Hampshire, knocking the former House speaker for likening his trouble getting onto Virginia’s primary ballot to attacks on Pearl Harbor in 1941.

“I think he compared that to … what was it, Pearl Harbor? I think it’s more like Lucille Ball at the chocolate factory,” Mittens mewed, referring to the episode where the homemaker Lucy switches places with her husband for a day and is humorously overwhelmed as chocolates fly past her on an assembly line. “You’ve got to get it organized.”

GOTP officials in Virginia announced over the weekend that Gingrich had failed to submit enough signatures to get on the ballot for the state’s March 6 primary. In a post on Facebook, campaign manager Michael Krull compared the situation to the Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor in December 1941.

Wow, really? So, GOTP officials are the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbor because the yokels on the Gingrich campaign can’t get their collective acts together? How pathetic. What this demonstrates is how flat footed Newton’s team really is; he never seriously expected to be in a position to be challenging Mittens for the nomination and the three ring circus he calls a campaign is proof positive of that with Gingrich wearing the red nose and big floppy shoes. If the Newt campaign resembles any kind of TV show however it’s not “I Love Lucy”, it’s “Benny Hill”.

Mittens Says ‘We Would Not Have Gone In’ If We Knew There Were No Weapons of Mass Destruction?

Huffington Post is reporting Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential bridesmaid Mittens Romney, speaking to NBC News’ Chuck Todd, seemed to shift positions on the Iraq War.

As highlighted by New York Magazine‘s Jonathan Chait, Mittens attempted to explain to Todd, “If we knew at the time of our entry into Iraq that there were no weapons of mass destruction, if somehow we had been given that information, obviously we would not have gone in.”

“You don’t think we would have gone in?” asked Todd.

“Well of course not,” Mittens mewed in response. “The president went in based upon intelligence that they had weapons of mass destruction. Had he known that that was not the case; the U.N. would not have put forward resolutions authorizing this type of action. The president would not have been pursuing that course. But we did not know that. Based upon what we knew at the time, we were very much under the impression as a nation, our president was under the impression, that they had weapons of mass destruction that Saddam Hussein was intent on potentially using those weapons, and so he took action based upon what he knew. But to go back and say, well knowing what we know now would we have gone in? Well, knowing what we know now, they did not have weapons of mass destruction; there would have been no effort on the part of our president or others to take military action.”

Of course when Mittens was running for the GOTP nomination in 2008 he took a much different position on the conflict; The New York Times, moderator Tim Russert asked Romney during a 2008 presidential debate if the Iraq War was “a good idea worth the cost in blood and treasure we have spent.” Romney answered, “It was the right decision to go into Iraq. I supported it at the time; I support it now.” As Chait explains, Romney’s debate answer came at a time when it was already clear that Iraq possessed no weapons of mass destruction.

Huffington reports Mittens’ latest comments come only a few days after the U.S. marked the end of the nearly nine year conflict. The GOTP wannabe hasn’t been shy in his criticism of President Obama’s handling of the troop withdrawal. Recently, BBC News reported Romney said, “I think we’re going to find that this president, by not putting in place a status-of-forces agreement with the Iraqi leadership, has pulled our troops out in a precipitous way and we should have left 10-, 20-, 30,000 personnel there to help transition to the Iraqis’ own military capabilities.”

Mittens thinks he can say whatever he wants to whomever he wants and that there’re no consequences; in today’s media savvy electronic world that’s simply not the case and it’s going to bite him in the butt. Romney’s a flip-flopper of the highest order and that demonstrates a level of untrustworthiness that should concern all Americans because the last thing this country needs is a President who has no moral compass and flies by the seat of his pants on every issue.

Mittens dismisses $10K debate bet, criticizes President

The Associated Press (AP) is reporting Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential bridesmaid Mittens Romney is attempting to dismiss his offer during the latest debate installment to make a $10,000 bet with the Reverend Ricky Perry as merely “an outrageous number to answer an outrageous charge” – namely, Perry’s claim Romney made changes to parts of his book.

Mittens mewed he made the offer because Reverend Perry erroneously claimed he deleted parts of his book, “No Apology” referring to Romney’s support for a health care mandate.

Mittens told FOX PAC his bet offer was meaningless hyperbole, akin to saying “I’ll bet you a million bucks.”

The bet’s sparked charges Mittens, who’s a millionaire, is out of step with economic challenges facing ordinary Americans.

Mittens quickly tried to deflect such charges by claiming what the American people are tired of is President Barack Obama deflecting blame for his failed economic policies.

So, Mittens tries to deflect attention away from his own obtuse comments by claiming the President’s trying to deflect?

Mittens’ biggest problem is he is out of touch with the 99% of us who aren’t millionaires; he’s got no glue what it’s like to struggle economically. or to lay awake at night trying to figure out how you’ll make this month’s mortgage payment, or how you’ll feed your kids or keep the heat and lights on. He’s a rich kid, and his “bet” was the typical rich kid reaction. Claiming it was “an outrageous number to answer an outrageous charge” is an outrageous statement. To me, an outrageous bet is $10,000, to the rest of the 99% it’s an outrageous bet, to Mittens it’s change found under his sofa cushions.

Mittens Grilled on Same-Sex Marriage Rights

The Associated Press (AP) is reporting a gay veteran lit into GOTP presidential candidate Mittens Romney at a campaign stop in New Hampshire, challenging the former Massachusetts governor on his views on same-sex marriage.

Mittens approached Bob Garon, a gay man seated with his husband at the Chez Vachon restaurant, taking note of the man’s Vietnam Veteran hat.

“Vietnam veteran!” Romney said, taking a seat at the couple’s booth, according to the Washington Post.

Mittens arrogantly assumed because Garon was wearing a Vietnam veterans hat he must’ve been a conservative like himself, and thought he’d get some quick press talking to a vet, what he got was something quite different; Garon, a self-avowed independent voter, reportedly quickly launched into a question about New Hampshire’s gay marriage law, asking Romney if he supported recent stirrings by GOP presidential candidates about repealing the legislation, which allows same-sex couples to get married.

“I support the repeal of the New Hampshire law,” Romney responded. “I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. That’s my view.”

“It’s good to know how you feel, that you do not believe everyone is entitled to their constitutional rights,” Garon shot back.

“No, actually, I think at the time the Constitution was written it was pretty clear that marriage is between a man and a woman,” Romney replied. “And I don’t believe the Supreme Court has changed that.”

I’d love to know where in the Constitution – or the writings of the Founding Fathers – where marriage is discussed between a man and a woman and where it’s protected? Oh wait; it doesn’t.

Seeing the tight spot Mittens had placed himself into, an aide rushed in to extricate him from the situation, claiming the candidate had another interview with FOX PAC.

“Oh, I guess the question was too hot,” Garon said. Before getting up to leave the booth, Romney said he had given Garon a yes or no answer.

The exchange was enough to make up Garon’s mind on how he felt about Romney.

“I was undecided,” Garon said. But now “I’m totally convinced today that he’s not going to be my president — at least in my book. At least Obama will entertain the idea. This man is ‘no way, Jose.’ Well, take that ‘no way, Jose’ back to Massachusetts.”

“The guy ain’t going to make it,” he told reporters later. “You can’t trust him. I can see it in his eyes.”

Garon’s nailed it exactly, Mittens can’t be trusted, and YOU CAN see it in his eyes.

Latest 2012 Presidential Polls – 01 Dec 11 Edition

A new Rasmussen Reports poll of likely voters conducted 30 Nov 11 has been released concerning the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) nominating circus; the current poll results are:

Newton Leroy Gingrich 38; Mittens Romney 17; Herman “Pizza Man” Cain 8; Ronny Paul 8; Reverend Rick Perry 4; Michele “Krazy” Bachmann 4; Ricky “The Ric” Santorum 4 and  Jon “I can’t believe it’s not butter” Huntsman 3

The GOTP version of the Island of Misfit Candidates continues with Newton gaining a commanding lead over Bridesmaid Mittens and the Pizza Man beginning to burn up on re-entry; Reverend Ricky, Paul and Krazy all continue to drop like the stone in the well, while Huntsman maintains his bottom dwelling mud sucker status as Santorum continues to just sit and basically not go up or down. No one has scored this significant of a lead over the pack – ever, and considering it’s the uber-conservative Rasmussen polling organization this should be a huge concern for Mittens who went running to Texas today to plead for help from Bush 41.

In Iowa, a new Insider Advantage poll of likely voters conducted 28 Nov 11: Gingrich 28; Paul 13; Romney 12; Cain 10; Bachmann 10; Perry 7; Santorum 3 and Huntsman ?

In New Hampshire, Rasmussen Reports conducted a poll of likely voters conducted 28 Nov 11: Mittens 34; Gingrich 24; Paul 14; Huntsman 11; Cain 5; Perry 2; Bachmann 2 and Santorum 1

In South Carolina, the new Insider Advantage poll of likely voters conducted 28 Nov 11: Gingrich 38; Romney 15; Cain 13; Paul 7; Perry 4; Bachmann 3; Santorum 2 and Huntsman ?

In Florida, the new Insider Advantage poll of likely voters conducted on 29 Nov 11: Gingrich 41; Romney 17; Cain 13; Perry 7; Paul 4; Bachmann 3; Santorum 1 and Huntsman ? …

In Nevada, the PPP (D) poll of registered voters conducted from 20 – 23 Oct 11: Romney 29; Cain 28; Gingrich 15; Paul 7; Perry 6; Bachmann 3; Huntsman and Santorum 2 …

In the five states with the lead off primaries – or caucuses – Gingrich leads big over Romney 3 – 2

Concerning how the GOTP “candidates stack up against the President; according to a Rasmussen Reports poll of likely voters conducted 21 – 22 Nov 11, if the general election were held today:

President Obama 44/Romney 38

According to a Rasmussen Reports poll of likely voters conducted 19 – 20 Nov 11, if the general election were held today:

President Obama 46/Gingrich 40

So, if the GOTP clown car had finally stopped spinning, and the general election was held today, Newton Leroy Gingrich would be the nominee, and he would’ve lost to President Obama.

Mittens mews back?

"I firmly support a woman's right to decide!"

According to the Associated Press (AP), Republican Tea Party (GOTP) perpetual presidential bridesmaid Mittens Romney is fighting back against a Democratic National Committee (DNC) commercial that portrays him as a flip-flopper; it’s the first time Mittens has mewed about what many see as his biggest political liability.

The Romney camp threw together a hasty defense, arranging for supporters to hold conference calls with reporters in an attempt to combat the ad which highlights Mitten’s changed positions on abortion, immigration, guns and other issues.

"I firmly support overturning Roe v Wade"!

But Mittens isn’t just getting bashed by the DNC, fellow GOTP candidate Newton “Stay Puffed” Gingrich, who just won an important endorsement in New Hampshire, told a South Carolina radio audience “it’s wrong to go around and adopt radically different positions based on your need of any one election.” Finally, a GOTP contender is attacking his primary opponents!

Unlike Mitten’s recent ad where he took a remark the President made in 2008 quoting his opponent John McCain and editing it to sound as though it were today and the President was referring to himself, the DNC ad simply takes statements Romney has made and then flipped on.

"I'm an Independent who never supported Reagan/Bush!"

If nothing else, the urgency of Mittens campaign’s reaction to the Democratic ad suggested he sees the flip-flop accusations as serious, and a wound that could prove mortal to his aspirations to be president.

The DNC launched its multi-state attack, portraying Romney as a politician in conflict with himself. The TV ad’s airing in the battleground states of North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and New Mexico. Democrats also held events in Iowa, Florida, Michigan, Maryland and Massachusetts calling attention to a longer and more detailed version of the criticisms on the website mittvmitt.com.

"No wait, I'm a Republican who thinks Ronald Reagan is the most awesomest thing ever!"

The video calls Romney “an unparalleled flip-flopper.” It shows two late-night comedians mocking his sincerity and three Fox News reporters seeming to question Romney’s authenticity.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Newton said he’s “a lot more conservative than Mitt Romney.” In response to a question about Romney’s eagerness to be elected, Gingrich said: “I wouldn’t switch my positions for political reasons. It’s perfectly reasonable to change your position if facts change. If you see new things you didn’t see – everybody’s done that, Ronald Reagan did that. It’s wrong to go around and adopt radically different positions based on your need of any one election. Then people will have to ask themselves, `What will you tell me next time?'”

Newton is 100% spot on with his appraisal of Mittens; if you can’t hold on to any core values as a candidate, it’s a perfectly reasonable question for the electorate to ask, “What will you tell me next time?”

Don’t get me wrong, Newton’s as loathsome an individual as the GOTP could ever hope to nominate, he’s the Gollum of the race with his sexual liaisons and extramarital affairs and his excuse that only he committed them because of his “great love for his country”; Newton is just as unelectable as Romney, but getting shellacked by the President will at last drive him from the national spot light.”Which way is the wind blowing right now”?

Romney’s ‘Perfect’ President for the 19th Century?

New Hampshire’s largest newspaper, the Union Leader, has announced Sunday it’s endorsing Newton “Stay Puffed” Gingrich in the 2012 Republican Tea Party (GOTP) primary race. This of course comes as a near devastating blow to fellow GOTP presidential candidate Mittens Romney.

Union Leader editorial page editor Andrew Cline said on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday that Romney’s a “very play-it-safe candidate” which is not what America needs right now. “Perhaps in the late 19th century, perfect.”

“He doesn’t want to offend anybody, he wants to be liked, he wants to try to reach out and be very safe,” said Cline. “And that’s not very realistic, but imagine what that would be like as president.”

The paper had narrowed down its choices to Gingrich and Reverend Rick Perry, eventually going with Gingrich because of his political experience, Cline said.

“I’m really not sure precisely what we get out of a President Romney — who might very well be a good president — but we don’t really know,” he said. “Given the choice between the candidate who wants to be liked and the candidate who wants to be respected, we would rather have the guy who wants to be respected.”

Publisher Joseph W. McQuaide wrote in the endorsement that Gingrich is “by no means the perfect candidate,” but is the best one in the running.

“We don’t have to agree with them on every issue. We would rather back someone with whom we may sometimes disagree than one who tells us what he thinks we want to hear,” he wrote.

So, Mittens has been passed over by the largest newspaper in the state of New Hampshire for Newton; wow, no matter how you try to spin it, that’s got to sting quite a bit. But the editor’s right, Mittens wants to be liked and he’s been selling his soul to every new audience, flip flopping back and forth on every issue saying whatever he thinks the current crowd wants to hear; and well frankly, eventually that kind of political foosball catches up with you. Gingrich’s the first viable challenger to King Mittens and he could pull it off, the rest of the Crazy Eights are simply courtesans at this point.

Romney says false ad is OK?

According to the Associated Press (AP) Republican Tea Party (GOTP) former presidential front runner Mittens Romney is defending a TV ad quoting President Barack Obama out of context, and signaling Romney’s ready to admit he’s a slimy politician who’s prepared to do anything in order to be elected.

The ad began airing in New Hampshire this week using audio of then-Senator Obama campaigning in the state in 2008, saying: “If we keep talking about the economy, we’re going to lose.

The ad fails to point out the President was quoting the campaign of his opponent, 2008 GOP nominee John McCain. Instead, the ad leaves the impression it’s the President who doesn’t want to discuss the economy. It’s a lie and Romney knows it.

Mittens mewed to reporters his campaign distributed the ad with a press release noting the words were originally from Obama’s opponent.

“There was no hidden effort on the part of our campaign. It was instead to point out that what’s sauce for the goose is now sauce for the gander,” Romney said, “This ad points out, now, guess what, it’s your turn. The same lines used on John McCain are now going to be used on you, which is that this economy is going to be your albatross.”

Well, except Mittens that you’re deliberately deceiving the electorate; the fact you told the media outlets the ad was a fake, doesn’t clear you from being a liar.

GOTP Christmas Special airing in 2012

As Christmas, and the first primaries and caucuses, approach it’s appropriate to wonder where this year’s crop of Crazy Eight Republican Tea Party (GOTP) candidates will be next Christmas, well wonder no more, famed stop motion animators Rankin/Bass have announced a brand new special, “The GOTP Island of Misfit Candidate”, and they’ve released their ideal cast of characters:

Mittens “in the box” Romney; he’s never garnered more than 25% of Republicans polled, thus it would appear few Republicans want to play with him

Michelle “Dolly” Bachmann; the Dolly for Sue’s misfit problem was revealed on NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! News quiz show (broadcast 8 Dec 07). The show revealed that Rudolph’s producer, Arthur Rankin Jr., says Dolly’s problem was psychological, caused from being abandoned by her mistress and suffering depression from feeling unloved. Wow, is that type casting or what?

Newton “the spotted elephant” Gingrich; if you’ve seen the original Rudolph you’ve seen how that white polka-dotted elephant looks, who else but Newton could play him? Besides Newton is the one GOTP nominee who’d love to change some of his spots.

Jon “train with square wheels” Huntsman; a square wheeled train would never get any traction, just like his campaign.

Rick “the cowboy riding an ostrich” Perry; Reverend Ricky is strange enough to actually try this if he thought he’d win the nomination.

Herman “toy boat that sinks” Cain; the boat couldn’t float, and the Pizza Man’s campaign is sinking faster than the Titanic

Rick “water pistol that shoots jelly” Santorum; you look at water pistol and it seems an OK toy, but then it squirts jelly; you look at Ricky and he appears presidential, but then he opens his mouth and you discover you’re wrong.

Ron “bird fish” Paul; he appears so often to be able to spread his wings and fly, but then he jumps off into the air and lands in the deep end of the pool.

Look for this new Christmas classic in December 2012.
