Latest 2020 Presidential Polls – 20 October 2020

21 Oct

Fourteen days (two weeks) to go until Election Day and Vice President Joe Biden continues leading Donald Trump in all current polling. Many polls continue to show Biden with a double digit lead over Trump. The country continues spiraling downward through the covid-19 pandemic with more than 8,237,630 confirmed cases in the United States, including Trump, his wife, and son, Baron, as well as three GOP Senators, with more than 220,609 deaths. Trump continues proclaiming himself “immune” to covid, and even though the country is in the midst of yet another spike, trump continues to claim we have turned the corner. Trump has spent the past few days attacking medical experts and scientists and continues holding his Nuremberg rallies without requiring masks or social distancing.

So, with a mere 14 days until November 3rd, where do we stand?

In national polling, according to the latest USC Dornslife Poll, conducted 6-12 October 2020, of 5,488 likely voters:

Biden 54%
Trump 41%

The latest Sienna College/NY Times Upshot Poll, conducted 15-18 October 2020 of 987 likely voters, has the race lining up like this:

Biden 50%
Trump 41%

In the YouGov Poll, conducted from 16-18 October 2020 of 1,583 likely voters:

Biden 48%
Trump 37%

Running election simulations, Biden beats Trump 18 out of 20 times, with Trump winning once, and one tie.

Biden 323/Trump 215
Biden 305/Trump 233
Biden 419/Trump 119
Biden 328/Trump 210
Biden 319/Trump 219

Biden 386/Trump 152
Biden 435/Trump 103
Biden 279/Trump 259
Biden252/Trump 286
Biden 432/Trump 106

Biden 416/Trump 122
Biden 278/
Trump 260
Biden 346/
Trump 192
Biden 289/
Trump 249
Biden 269/Trump 269
(US House decides the outcome)

Biden 324/Trump 214
Biden 274/Trump 264
Biden 300/Trump 238
Biden 378/Trump 160
Biden 335/Trump 203

As far as the national race for the White House is concerned, according to recent state polling data available, if the election was today, odds are that Vice President Joe Biden would be the 46th President of the United States, while Trump, who forever remains the third impeached president in U.S. history, will go down as one of the unquestionably cut-rate and tasteless individuals to ever sit in the Oval Office.
