And to start this holiday season off right the GOP is blocking continuance of unemployment insurance! Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! Get a job! (cue GOP favorite Christmas jingle, Bruce Hornsby’s “The Way it Is”) I always suspected Mr. Potter, Scrooge and Marley belonged to that caucus.
I can hear my conservative friends now, “But, you know the deficit is way too high and the national debt is staggering”
And that my friends, is why Boehner and company are holding out to raise both by another $800 Billion to continue a tax break for the top 2% of Americans?
Presidential Candidate McCain said he would listen to the military on the question of ending Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, now he’s changed his mind. One more example of why he should retire and just go away.

While I agree the so-called “art” featuring religious symbols (i.e. the crucifix in a bottle of urine, or a crucifix being crawled on by ants) shouldn’t be in the Smithsonian, and shouldn’t be funded by tax payer’s dollars – if indeed it is
With that being said, and with so many other “real” problems confronting us, like, oh I don’t know, the fact American’s unemployment insurance has ended, maybe Republican Tea Party (GOTP) leaders like Boehner, Cantor, and company, should be spending time on other things beside censorship?

Just to clarify the situation, I don’t believe there is any “homoerotic art” in the so-called “homoerotic” exhibit … I have looked through it, and once again the GOTP Thought Police, have overstepped its bounds … It isn’t that there’s “homoerotic” art in the exhibit, it’s all about the fact the museum has chosen to feature an exhibit by Gay and Lesbian artists. It’s about state funded discrimination – which is wrong. I agree the American people shouldn’t be funding “offense” art to hang in the “people’s” museum – the Smithsonian – but this is not the case here.
By-the-way, who appointed the GOTP to be America’s conscience? Can we choose a body of people less inclined to invoke God’s name while violating any number of His commandments? Please? Anybody else?
And my friends, this is a man who really gets flawed decision making … for example his choice of a running mate in 2008 …

Looking at all the available polling data here’s how the numbers breakdown – if the election were held today:
In the United States Senate the Democratic party holds its majority, 52 – 48 (54-46)
In the House of Representatives the Democratic party holds its majority, 217-216 (194-240) Just didn’t have enough info on many of the seats, and went with the incumbents.
In the Governor’s races, the GOP wins out, 24 – 11 and 1 state to an Independent (23-12-1)
