Take our country back?

I woke up this morning to beautiful spring sunshine; I knelt down next to my bed and thanked my Heavenly Father for watching over my family and for all the blessings He has given me, and asked for protection and guidance through the day; then I picked my scriptures and studied for about 15 or 20 minutes.

I went outside, noting there were no police officers waiting to haul me off to jail, and saw my flag was still in its traditional spot, my cars were still in my driveway, my house was still where I’d left it, and I heard the music of birds chirping, people saying goodbyes to family members as they left for work or school and enjoyed the warm sunshine. I noticed there were neatly rolled up newspapers in my neighbor’s driveways.

I went back inside, and just for fun, checked to see my fire arms were still safely in place and that my pantry still had food in it and then looked around to ensure no soldiers were sleeping uninvited in any of the bedrooms or in my den or living room; then I turned on my computer and read the morning news, where I noticed another half dozen protests in Wisconsin, New York, Oakland … I checked my emails, replying to one addressing a concern from one of my members of Congress, and then I commented on a myriad of political topics on blogs and Facebook. I also checked my bank statements, purchased some books, and watched an amusing video or two.

I hear a lot of “discussion” about “taking our country back”, about coercion and usurpation, but I’m still trying to find which of my “liberties” has been seized by the big, bad, federal government?

GOTP House wastes day voting to ban non-existent regulation?

While millions of Americans remain out of work, the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) controlled House passes a bill to ban a farm dust regulation the federal government has never proposed? The bill banning a non-existent federal regulation passed the House, sailing through easily on a party-line vote of 268 to 150.

The Huffington Post’s reporting that the measure, dubbed the Farm Dust Regulation Prevention Act of 2011, was professed by its lead sponsor, South Dakota GOTP Rep. Kristi Noem, to stop the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from writing a rule that would require farmers to take onerous steps to control dust from their land.

So, a United States Congresswoman is taking a leaf from the Bush/Cheney book of “strategery” and launching a pre-emptive strike against a regulation that might never have happened? Clearly 268 members of the House have forgotten what’s really pressing right now; it’s jobs morons!

According to Huffington, EPA administrator Lisa Jackson has said repeatedly that no such rule is in the works. What the EPA does do is review ambient air pollution standards every five years, as required by law, and make recommendations on whether or not to tighten standards.

“We have spent an entire day debating about a bill that does not address an existing problem,” said Colorado Democratic Rep. Diana DeGette.

“This entire session of Congress has felt to many of us like a trip into Alice’s Wonderland,” said DeGette. “To paraphrase the Cheshire Cat, ‘We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad. … You must be mad or you wouldn’t have come here.’ Sadly for the American people, H.R. 1633 simply underscores the ‘madness’ of this body right now.”

Well said Congresswoman; underscores the current House purrrrfectly.

Republicans countered that although no rule was proposed, they worried that someone might file a lawsuit someday to regulate farm dust.

“We know that many of the environmental decisions in America today are made by individuals and groups that file lawsuits,” said Kentucky GOTP Rep. Ed Whitfield. “That’s exactly what we’re afraid is going to happen in this instance.”

Next week the GOTP will no doubt pass legislation outlawing people from owning apes that talk because one day they might rise up and take over the world.

The measure is unlikely to move in the Senate, and Democrats complained it was a waste of time.

“Once again, House Republicans are wasting the Congress’s time on a bill that has nothing to do with creating jobs or dealing with the pressing issues that confront us before the end of the year,” said Democratic House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer. “This farm dust bill is merely a smoke screen for Republican inaction on legislation that is actually important and would have significant bearing on millions of Americans.”

It’s not a smokescreen Congressman; it’s a smoke signal telling everyone know how truly screwed up the GOTP is. Millions are in want, and they’re protecting farmers from regulations that do not now, nor may never exist. One more item for anyone running against these yahoos to hold up and say, “This is the kind of nonsense Congressman Bozo has been voting on; while so many of our fellow Americans are out of work, he’s voting to stop imaginary regulations.”

Beck claims the Norway camp smacks of ‘Hitler Youth’?

According to CNN, Glenn Beck is comparing the summer camp on Utoya island, where most of the 76 victims died during last week’s massacre in Norway, to the Hitler Youth organization of Nazi Germany.

Here we go, Beck’s Nazi tourettes is manifesting itself again.

To his credit, Beck declared the killings “the work of a madman” and called the suspect “as bad as Osama bin Laden.” But before launching into that condemnation, he questioned what the victims were doing at a summer camp run by Norway’s ruling Labour Party.

“… Sounds a little like, you know, the Hitler Youth or whatever. Who does a camp for kids that’s all about politics? Disturbing,” Beckster said.

Beck’s comments were condemned by Torbjørn Eriksen, a former press secretary to Jens Stoltenberg, Norway‘s prime minister.

Eriksen described the comment as “a new low” for Beck, telling the UK’s Daily Telegraph: “Young political activists have gathered at Utøya for over 60 years to learn about and be part of democracy, the very opposite of what the Hitler Youth was about. Glenn Beck’s comments are ignorant, incorrect and extremely hurtful.”

The Beckster poses an interesting question however, who does a camp for kids that’s all about politics?

Well, as it turns out politically-oriented camps are being organized right here in the United States by none other than chapters of the “9/12 Project” — an organization founded by Herr Beck himself in 2009.

One such uber-conservative camp was hosted by the Colorado 9/12 Project. The group hosted its “Patriot Camp” for kids in grades 1-5 earlier this month, featuring programs on “our Constitution, the Founding Fathers, and the values and principles that are the cornerstones of our nation.” But if these were the same uber-patriotic right wing values Beckster has constantly claimed were the same as the “founders” then one should be concerned over which camp more closely resembles the Hitlerjugend. Gee, I don’t know? The liberal Labour party camp in Norway, or the uber-conservative Glenn Beck inspired camp in Colorado?

Let’s be clear, Beck is not Hitler, but if he’s going to compare other’s camps to the Hitler Youth then he’s fair game too. Beck has advocated violence against others – on numerous occasions, and some attacks here in America have been tied back to the attackers having been avid listeners/viewers of Beck.

But wait Colorado isn’t the only place your children can receive historical education in the Beckian style, the Danville, Kentucky Beck chapter is holding its “Vacation Liberty School” that organizers pledge “will help your children understand where we came from. Understand where we went wrong. Understand where the fork in the road was, and which path we should have taken,” and that no doubt will bash progressives, immigrants, Jews, President Obama, Islam etc; the usual target of Beck rants.

It should be noted that the suspect in Friday’s Norwegian massacre is a right-wing Norwegian Christian who police say wanted to halt what he believed as the Islamic “colonization” of the country.

Again, while condemning the attacks, Beck (going into his prophet mode) said he predicted last fall that Europe “is going to go into problems with radical Islam” and cited Dutch far-right politician Geert Wilders as saying “Political correctness and multiculturalism is killing Europe, and he’s right.”

Glenn Beck has problems, as do – in my opinion – those who proclaim themselves to be amongst his congregation of followers. He is not a prophet, and he doesn’t know half as much about history or about what the Founding Fathers thought as he thinks he does. If he did he would have known it was Norway’s Liberal Labour party which fought against the Nazis in World War II.

Beck is a dangerous little man inciting violence and bigotry amongst his faithful. His ignorance has been demonstrated on countless occasions, as is the case here. Seventy-six innocent people are murdered by an uber-right wing conservative Christian and Beck compares the victims to Hitler Youth, and his listeners gleefully nod their heads in agreement. How long before one of his wing nut listeners does the same here? Of course Beck will rush to condemn the attack and hide behind the 1st Amendment claiming his words didn’t incite the attacker. Well, Herr Beck, words have meaning.

Congressman Kurtz (West) rides again?

According to Allan (Walter E. Kurtz) West, the only reason Democrats criticize him and Herman (Pizza Man) Cain is because they’re racist.

Kurtz (West) made his outlandish claim while whining to Mark Levin on his radio show. The topic quickly took the off ramp to Toon Town while West (Kurtz) was attempting to justify his immature emails directed at DNC Chairwoman, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

“I grew up in the inner city, strong values, came from a strong military family and background,” West (Kurtz) whimpered. “What we do is we totally invalidate the liberal social welfare policies and programs. And you know, I’m the threat because I’m the guy that got off their 21st-century plantation, and they cannot afford to have a strong voice such as mine out there, reverberating and resonating across this country.”

Yeah, the colonel figured it out, didn’t he? How thick does he think people are? Well, of course he must think they’re pretty dense because he’s calling in to talk to Mark Levin; but does he really think people are that obtuse? Progressives don’t make fun of him because he and the Pizza Man are black, it’s because they’re a pair of brainless, unintelligent halfwits who make moronic statements such as, “And you know, I’m the threat because I’m the guy that got off their 21st-century plantation”.

If memory serves, Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz criticized Kurtz (West) because he had spoken out in favor of cutting Medicare, not because he’s black; it’s because he’s a member of Congress representing a district with a lot of retired seniors and his stance on Medicare is ridiculous. And it was West (Kurtz) – not the Congresswoman – who then threw a tantrum claiming she is “not a lady,” because I guess in the world of Colonel Kurtz (West), woman are supposed to seen and not heard, and here is a woman making him look as though you’d just fallen out of the dim-wit tree and hit every branch on the way down and his ego doesn’t know how to handle that. Well, with any luck he’ll only be serving for about one more year, and then he’ll become a footnote in some obscure history book about lunatic former military types who get elected to Congress, have their lunch handed to them and then disappear.

Congressman Kurtz goes to Washington?

One of the more high strung/immature Republican Tea Party (GOTP) congressmen, Allen (Walter E. Kurtz) West from Florida has resorted to email to call a Democratic colleague – who is also from Florida – “vile, despicable and cowardly” after she dared to question his stance on Medicare during the debate over a spending cap and balanced budget bill before the House.

West (Kurtz), a first-term GOTP representative sent his email outburst to numerous members of Congress as well as his target, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

The subject line of the email was: “Unprofessional and Inappropriate Sophomoric Behavior from Wasserman Schultz.”

The e-mail said: “Look, Debbie, I understand that after I departed the House floor you directed your floor speech comments directly towards me. Let me make myself perfectly clear, you want a personal fight, I am happy to oblige. You are the most vile, unprofessional and despicable member of the US House of Representatives. If you have something to say to me, stop being a coward and say it to my face, otherwise, shut the heck up.”

And what exactly were the remarks that were so upsetting to West? Well, it seems that during debate on the House floor, Wasserman Schultz said: “The gentleman from Florida, who represents thousands of Medicare beneficiaries, as do I, is supportive of this plan that would increase costs for Medicare beneficiaries; unbelievable from a member from south Florida.”

Wow, those really are vile, despicable and cowardly. Are you kidding me?

Wasserman Schultz was alluding to a GOP-backed bill to reduce the debt and amend the Constitution requiring a balanced federal budget which the House later approved by a vote of 234-190 even though it’s very unlikely to pass the Democratic Senate. How unlikely? It would be easier for Tiny Tim to play striker for Manchester.

In his email, Kurtz (West )said Wasserman Schultz has proven “that you are not a Lady” and “shall not be afforded due respect from me!” He said he was alerting House leaders to her “heinous characterless behavior.”

Once again Congressman West (Kurtz) has proven that he’s wound more than just a little too tight and is in dire need of some serious psychological help. This is the man who was forced to retire from the Army – rather than face formal UCMJ charges – after he discharged his pistol next to a prisoner’s head after threatening to kill him; yeah, the flower of the GOTP congressional freshman class.

Beck’s family attacked by angry lynch mob in NYC?

So, according to Glenn Beck his family was allegedly accosted while watching a movie in a New York City park Monday night. America was told of the incident on Beck’s radio show and also on his website, describing the incident he said an angry moviegoer kicked a glass of wine onto his wife Tania’s back, and as she got up to walk away, a man shouted: “We hate conservatives here.”

When asked by his staff why he didn’t just get up and leave Beck responded “…because I have a right to watch a movie and enjoy a movie with my family in the park. I have a right.”

While he said he doesn’t expect “a warm welcome in New York City,” what troubled him “was the cowardly behavior of the hateful crowd.”

“The cowardly behavior of a hateful crowd” really, one guy says he hates conservatives and suddenly it’s a “hateful crowd”? Do you think we might be overreacting just a little bit here Herr Beck? Of course, with all the hate you spew daily you’re surprised when you get a little back? Where were your body guards? We’re to believe you felt threatened, and that a man kicked wine on your wife and your private goon squad did nothing? The fact no one jumped on the guy while whisking your family away in your armored vehicles leads me to believe it never happened.

Beck to Lead a Holy Crusade to Israel?

Glenn Beck recently announced on his radio show that he is planning to hold a rally in Jerusalem sometime in August called “Restoring Courage.” This of course will be his Holy Land version of his “Restoring Honor” rally last August in Washington D.C.

I cannot imagine anything more ludicrous than Glenn Beck presuming to hold a rally in Israel named “Restoring Courage”. Talk about being clueless. Of all the countries in the world, he’s going to go to Israel and presume to take his act there and tell the Israeli people about courage?

What makes this more ludicrous is the fact Beck is a borderline anti-Semite. I’m sure he’ll just be adored in Jerusalem. Of course with Beck’s ego he’ll probably demand to enter the city on a white colt and have palm fronds thrown on the ground in front of him.

I’m really surprised he hasn’t scheduled it during the Passover, and then claim he didn’t know; like last year when he held is DC rally on the anniversary of Dr. King’s, “I Have A Dream” speech and then claimed he didn’t know it was the same date.

Beck recently visited Israel and Jerusalem, and he’s been doing his best Billy Graham impression, warning his listeners of impending disaster in Israel, because of a “two state solution that cuts off Jerusalem” from the world. Something no one has proposed, except in Beck’s frazzled mind.

“God is involved in man’s affairs, but so is the force of darkness,” Beck preached ominously. “I believe I’ve been asked to stand in Jerusalem. Many in the history of man have had the opportunity to stand with the Jewish people…and they have failed.” He asked listeners to “stand with me, in Jerusalem” in August.

So, now Glenn Beck has elevated himself to the roll of Prophet? He believes he’s been asked to stand in Jerusalem? He wants is listeners – aka his congregation – to go to Israel with him and to have a Glenn Beck crusade there?

He’s calling his Jerusalem crusade another “life altering event” (the same verbiage he used to hype his evangelical meeting in the DC) but now there’s a twist, it seems the powers of the Adversary are opposed to Beck and he’s warning his followers that the “very gates of hell” would fight his attempts to hold his rally.

OK, it’s official. He’s certifiable. He’s now declared he’s speaking for God, and that Satan is opposing him. Maybe Glenn he’s not opposing you, maybe he’s all the voices you’re listening to.

As I’ve said before, God works in mysterious ways, not stupid ways.

Audacity of Limbaugh

Yesterday, 10 Jun 11, while flipping through the radio stations, I came upon a brief exchange between a female caller from Martinez, CA and Rush.

Female Caller: “Every night when I put my girls to bed Rush, we pray for you and for our country.”

Rush: “Why thank you, they’re one and the same.”

Really?

Rush and the country – the United States of America – are one and the same? This demonstrates how Limbaugh really believes he’s running the country. That through his radio show – allegedly touching 12 million listeners (which is less than half of all Republicans in the country) – he thinks he’s guiding America’s destiny.

Of course Rush – if challenged on his comment – would say he was being glib, that it was entertaining.

Problem is, Rush might say that, but he really does believe he’s some kind of king maker. A few moments earlier in the show he had ascribed Mitt Romney’s change of heart on global warming to the fact that he – Rush Limbaugh – had said how Romney’s support of that theory was the end of his campaign.

Rush is megalomaniacism personified.

The fact some family prays for Rush Limbaugh is just astounding. Some good old white bread far right tea party Christian family prays each night for Rush? The sad part is, Rush the multi-millionaire doesn’t care what happens to that woman’s family; he could care less that she prays for him, except that it plays into his ego, and reinforces to him how gullible his listeners are, and how faithfully blind they are.

It’s scary that people believe so whole heartedly in men like Limbaugh and Beck. It speaks volumes to the seemingly low level of intelligence of Limbaugh’s “faithful” listeners (the “Ditto-heads”) and of how desperate they are to have someone to tell them what to think on the issues of today.

One also has to wonder if this female listener in Martinez, CA, casually dismisses all of Rush’s sexist and demeaning comments about women? Does she clarify for her daughters that Rush is “just kidding” when he says demeaning things? Or do those comments just fly right over her head? Unfortunately, it’s probably the latter.

Newt’s minions flee?

The ship shuddered as another compartment filled with the icy water of the north Atlantic, Jack grabbed Rose’s hand and they ran down the corridor, turning the corner they saw the rats running – escaping the sinking ship.

Sounds like the ending of Titanic? Or maybe it’s the entire top echelon of Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign resigning en masse! That’s what happened today, the Newt’s most trusted minions fled quicker than Orcs taking flight from Mordor.

“I am committed to running the substantive, solutions-oriented campaign I set out to run earlier this spring,” the Gingrich said in a posting to his Facebook page shortly after the 16 aides resigned. “The campaign begins anew Sunday in Los Angeles.”

Yeah, and the Black Knight only suffered a flesh wound.

Rick Tyler, Gingrich’s spokesman, campaign manager Rob Johnson and senior strategists all quit, along with aides in the early primary and caucus states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. The fleeing aides broke the news to Newt during a meeting at his headquarters in Washington, citing differences over the direction of the campaign.

“We had a different vision for victory,” Tyler told The Associated Press. “And since we couldn’t resolve that difference, I didn’t feel I could be useful in serving him.”

Scott Rials, a longtime aide who joined the departure, said, “I think the world of him, but at the end of the day we just could not see a clear path to win, and there was a question of commitment.”

Wow, so basically his top aides, the people closest to Newt, have determined he isn’t serious about the campaign, and that he lacks commitment? Yeah, he’s done. Of course, he never had much of a chance of winning the nomination much less the White House. Let’s face it, Newt’s as tainted as German tomatoes. In a recent FOX PAC poll he was 19 points behind the President. He’s done. He never started. He’s been a has-been ever since he resigned from Congress.

Palin is as obtuse as ever regarding American history?

The Ice Queen – Sarah Palin – is insisting history is on her side when claiming Paul Revere’s famous ride was intended to warn both British soldiers and his fellow colonists.

When asked by FOX PAC News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace, “You realize that you messed up about Paul Revere, don’t you?” Palin bristled and replied, “I didn’t mess up about Paul Revere”.

“Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there. That, hey, you’re not going to succeed. You’re not going to take American arms. You are not going to beat our own well-armed persons, individual, private militia that we have,” she added. “He did warn the British.”

According to the Associated Press, Palin was asked Thursday in Boston about the Revolutionary War hero during a stop on her politically funded family vacation, aka her “East Coast bus tour”.

“He who warned the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms by ringing those bells, and makin’ sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed.”

Yeah, well, that’s not quite how it happened, Your Majesty, and this is clearly one of two things; one, it’s typical modern day conservative revisionist history; or two, it’s one more piece of obvious evidence demonstrating how completely unqualified the Ice Queen is to ever be allowed anywhere near the White House.

How can anyone think, or believe, that Paul Revere’s ride was in any way designed to warn the British? The only British along Revere’s route were British Dragoons sent to block movement along the roadways, and to screen the infantry’s movement to Lexington and then to Concord.

Revere’s mission was to ride to Lexington in order to warn John Hancock and Samuel Adams that the British were coming – in force – to arrest them both, and to seize the militia weapons. There was no intent to tell the British anything.

What’s truly sad is there are literally millions of FOX PAC devotees who are nodding their heads agreeing with Palin.

She’s as obtuse as ever.
