Allen West Blames President Obama For Libya Attack?

Republican Tea Party (GOTP) Congressman Allen West (aka Walter E. Kurtz), the former Army officer forced to “retire” after discharging his side arm next to the head of a prisoner he’d just told he was going to kill, has jumped into the fray over attacks on U.S. diplomatic posts in Libya and Egypt blaming President Obama.

Mobs rioting in Egypt and Libya, allegedly outraged by an anti-Islam film promoted by Quran-burning preacher Terry Jones fired rocket-propelled grenades in Libya at the U.S. Consulate, killing four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

Kurtz (West), who’s fighting for his Congressional seat in a tight race against Democratic challenger Patrick Murphy, is doubling down saying it was the Obama administration’s support for the Arab Spring uprisings that encouraged the attacks by “intolerant, barbaric, radical Muslims.”

“Americans need to question whether the deaths of these innocent patriots could have been avoided,” West claimed in a statement. “The Obama Administration touted the Arab Spring as an awakening of freedom, which we now see is a nightmare of Islamism.” West then repeated the already debunked lie that U.S. Embassy officials in Cairo “apologized” for the inflammatory film.

“President Obama’s policy of appeasement towards the Islamic world has manifested itself into a specter of unconscionable hatred,” West said, declaring the current events ranked with the Iranian hostage crisis, in which 52 Americans were held for 444 days in Tehran, starting in late 1979.

“President Obama has clearly surpassed former President Jimmy Carter and his actions during the Iranian Embassy crisis, as the weakest and most ineffective person to ever occupy the White House,” he said, of course failing to mention how under the President’s watch Osama bin Laden was killed along with scores of other top Al Qaeda and Taliban leaders – the ones the Bush Administration seemed either unable or unwilling to find.

West is soon to be a foot note in political history as a one term congressman who’s outlandish claims have included that the Democratic Caucus in Congress was filled with communists. He’s trying to score points out of desperation, and his latest crazed comments are proving once more how in the end, just as he was unfit to wear his country’s uniform any longer, he’s unfit to serve in the United States Congress.

Arab Spring has gotten out of hand?

Republican Tea Party (GOTP) incredible shrinking presidential candidate Herman “Pizza Man” Cain said during the most recent “debate” that President Barack Obama’s reaction to the Arab Spring, has allowed the movement to go in the wrong direction.

“You have to look at Libya, Egypt, Yemen and all of the revolutions that are going on and how the administration has mishandled them,” he said. “As a result, this has gotten totally out of hand.”

You can hear his brain captain screaming, “How dare these people decide their own destiny, don’t they know that the right way is to have America invade your country and force feed democracy to them?!”

Pizza Man claims the revolution in Egypt, where citizens ousted long-time President Hosni Mubarak, could strain relations between the United States and Egypt, and he warned against the increased power of opposition group the Muslim Brotherhood, which formed a political party earlier this year.

“Our relationship with Egypt may not survive,” he said. “It turned out that the opposition was more of the Muslim Brotherhood, which could end up with a majority of control of this new government.”

Here’s the FOX PAC conservative line, look out for the Muslim Brotherhood to take control in the vacuum in Egypt!

So, Cain would have supported a policy of pouring billions of dollars into a regime notorious for torturing and murdering its own people?

Cain also criticized the president for his support for protests in Yemen, where the Yemeni government has responded with violence to peaceful protests.

“This president has already said that the president of Yemen should go,” Cain said. “He is our friend. He has been helping us fight Al Qaeda. This president has been on the wrong side in nearly every situation in the Arab world.”

Now we know that Herman Cain subscribes to the uber-conservative Machiavellian theory that the “enemy of my enemy is my friend”. Earth to Herman, America can’t proclaim itself as the “bright shining city on the hill” while simultaneously supporting corrupt and murderous governments just because sometimes they’re our friend.

The old cold war policy of throwing billions of dollars at nations in bribes is out dated and has never served us well; problem with buying friendship is eventually some new kid comes along who pays more. Of course when your answer has always been to pay people off what more can we expect from the Pizza Man?

Libya is free

The Associated Press (AP) has reported that the tyrannical despot who raped and despoiled Libya for 42 some odd years, Moammar Gadhafi, is dead; killed as revolutionary forces overwhelmed his hometown, Sirte, the last major bastion of resistance.

One more feather in President Obama’s cap of foreign policy through strength; while Bush/Cheney mollified Gadhafi – a known terrorist – President Obama supported the revolution which overthrew him and which has brought the opportunity of freedom to the people there in the last regime to fall under the wave of the Arab Spring.

The Arab Spring wave of popular uprisings that swept the Middle East, demanding the end of autocratic rulers and greater democracy has rewritten the political destinies of a number of former dictatorships including Egypt, Tunisia and now Libya; and unlike the Bush/Cheney years all were accomplished with no American invasions or pre-emptive strikes forcing western democracy upon others. These were revolutions spawned from within, not foisted from without.

“We have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Moammar Gadhafi has been killed,” Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril told a news conference in the capital Tripoli.

Al-Jazeera TV showed footage of a man resembling the 69-year-old Gadhafi lying dead or severely wounded, bleeding from the head and stripped to the waist as fighters rolled him over on the pavement.

The body was then taken to the nearby city of Misrata, which Gadhafi’s forces besieged for months in one of the bloodiest fronts of the civil war. Al-Arabiya TV showed footage of Gadhafi’s bloodied body carried on the top of a vehicle surrounded by a large crowd chanting, “The blood of the martyrs will not go in vain.”

According to the AP, celebratory gunfire and cries of “Allahu Akbar” or “God is Great” rang out across the capital Tripoli. Cars honked their horns and people hugged each other. In Sirte, the ecstatic former rebels celebrated the city’s fall after weeks of bloody siege by firing endless rounds into the sky, pumping their guns, knives and even a meat cleaver in the air and singing the national anthem.

Information Minister Mahmoud Shammam said he was told that Gadhafi was dead from fighters who said they saw the body.

“Our people in Sirte saw the body,” Shammam told The Associated Press. “Revolutionaries say Gadhafi was in a convoy and that they attacked the convoy.”

So, today the world is a little brighter as one more ruthless man is sent to his reward; people in Libya can breathe a little easier, and America has helped to bring a tyrant down. In spite of what many Republican Tea Party (GOTP) politicos have been claiming, Gadhafi was not our friend; he was not our ally; he was a terrorist and he will not be missed.
