Williams shifts blame to researcher?

Wow, first Breitbart fabricating its news stories, and then celebrated FOX News talking head Juan Williams is caught plagiarizing.

Juan Williams word thief

Salon’s Alex Seitz-Wald reported William’s paper “The Hill” was forced to change Williams’ most recent piece after it learned large portions of it were stolen from a Center for American Progress report.

Williams, it seems, has decided that rather than walk the “virtuous” path of taking responsibility for his own actions, he’s going to take the typical conservative pundit’s chicken way out and blame a researcher, who he said gave him what Williams thought were “his words and summaries” of the CAP report. Guess Juan was sleeping in class the day his teacher talked about using others writing as his own?

Not really surprising though, most right-wing talking heads regularly make stuff up, so why not use other people’s work and claim it as your own as well? When you work for FOX it appears it’s not only acceptable it’s encouraged; the FOX News mantra of the future may very well be, “We make it up – or steal it – you decide.”

AP had to apply a Michele Bachmann fact-checking ‘quota’?

According to the Associated Press (AP), Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential loser Congresswoman Michele Bachmann made so many dubious claims during her primary campaign, especially during the GOTP debates, they had to enforce a “quota” for how many it fact-checked.

Editor Jim Drinkard, who oversees the organization’s fact-checking, made the revelation at a National Press Club panel on Wednesday. “We had to have a self-imposed Michele Bachmann quota in some of those debates,” he said.

“Often she was just more prone to statements that just didn’t add up,” Drinkard explained.

Some of Bachmann’s statements, according to independent fact-checking website Factcheck.org, included allegations that Obama’s health care reform legislation would cost 1.6 million jobs over five years and that there is “no jail” for terrorists captured on the battlefield.

Of course her most celebrated statement came during the CNN/Tea Party debate when she went after Rick Perry and called the HPV vaccine a “potentially dangerous drug.” Health experts debunked that claim, which pundits also targeted.

It’s long been known Bachmann plays fast and loose with facts, and that she might be more than a little crazy, but at least now people know how off base she really is; perhaps her constituents will finally see what everyone in the country sees.

Maybe Al-Qaeda “Gave Up” Bin Laden To Make Obama “Look Good”?

Right wing talk radio buffoon Rush “Rusty” Hudson Limbaugh III has decided there’s a reason for why President Obama was able to order Navy Seals into Pakistan to kill Osama Bin Laden; he was able to get Bin Laden, because as Rusty puts it, “What if Ayman al-Zawahiri and other Al Qaeda leaders gave up Osama bin Laden for the express purpose of making Obama look good?”

Limbaugh claims his theory has legitimacy because Bin Laden was no longer a key player in Al Qaeda when he was killed, and that the group wanted Obama to remain in power so that it could have a better chance of seeing Israel destroyed, since the president is supposedly so hostile towards Israel.

“Do you think that militant Islamists will be as hopeful of getting rid of Israel with a Republican president or with a Democrat president?” he asked his listeners.

Once again Rusty’s trying to play on the conservative talking point that the President’s somehow weakened Israel, never mind all evidence to the contrary, such as providing Israel with 55 bunker-buster 5,000 pound bombs putting it in the perfect position to take out Iran’s buried nuclear facilities; or that while under the Bush administration aid to Israel steadily declined to $2,424,000,000 and that under President Obama aid to Israel’s on the rise once again with $2,550,000,000 given in 2009 and $2,770,000,000 given in 2010 with continued increase expected through FY 12.

Limbaugh’s proven once again that he’s not only a dolt, but the king of the dolts, making comments which are so far off the norm that only his obtuse audience would believe them. It’s another sign of just how desperate the right is and, that like their candidate, they’re willing to throw everything out there no matter how wild or untrue in an effort to defeat the President. As I said, Limbaugh’s a dolt.
