Reverend Perry’s Christmas video

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian,” Republican Tea Party (GOTP) aspirant Reverend Ricky Perry says in the opening of his latest attack ad; “But you don’t need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school.

“As president, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion. And I’ll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage. Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again.”

Now, how exactly has the lifting of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell affected kids ability to “openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school”? It hasn’t, but Reverend Ricky figures he’ll kill as many angry birds as possible with this one stone.

Facts are kids can celebrate Christmas in school – we attended a band concert just this week at our daughter’s high school where they played numerous Christmas songs and even a Hanukah song; additionally kids can openly pray all they want too in school, they just can’t have teachers or coaches, as a state employee, initiate it. As a high school football coach our athletes opened and closed each game with prayer; the students led the prayers and frequently invited their opponents to join them.

Exactly when and how has the President initiated or conducted a war on religion? Oh wait, yeah, he hasn’t, we’re just making it up as we go along – like claiming the Obama White House called its Christmas trees holiday trees when it hadn’t, and that it was actually the Bush White House which had done that.

Perry is, as many uber-conservatives in America today are, ignorant of what is and what is not factual. He’s playing to the lowest common denominator in the Tea Party dominated GOTP and he’s still not going to get jacks worth of votes for his efforts. His campaign’s been over almost from the get go, and it’s not hard to see why; he’s just your typical ignorant, arrogant, homophobic, racist white bread Christian southern politician. Time to pack it in and go home citizens, there’s nothing to see here; nothing of substance will ever be offered.

Latest 2012 Presidential Polls – 08 Dec 11 Edition

A new Gallup Tracking poll of registered voters conducted from 3 – 7 Dec 11 has been released concerning the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) nominating circus; the current poll results are:

Newton Leroy Gingrich 34; Mittens Romney 25; Ronny Paul 10; Michele “Krazy” Bachmann 7; Reverend Rick Perry 5; Ricky “The Ric” Santorum 2 and  Jon “I can’t believe it’s not butter” Huntsman 1

The GOTP version of the Island of Misfit Candidates continues with Newton holding on to his lead over Bridesmaid Mittens; Paul is holding steady as a distant third; still waiting on Krazy’s prediction to come true with Cain’s followers “going home to her”; Reverend Ricky, continues to drop away and out of view, while Santorum and Huntsman maintain their bottom dwelling mud sucker status.

In Iowa, a new CNN/Time poll of likely voters conducted 29 Nov – 6 Dec 11: Gingrich 33; Romney 20; Paul 17; Perry 9; Bachmann 7; Santorum 5 and Huntsman 1

In New Hampshire, the CNN/Time poll of likely voters conducted 29 Nov – 6 Dec 11: Mittens 35; Gingrich 26; Paul 17; Huntsman 8; Bachmann 3; Perry and Santorum 2

In South Carolina, the CNN/Time poll of likely voters conducted 29 Nov – 6 Dec 11: Gingrich 43; Romney 20; Perry 8; Paul and Bachmann 6; Santorum 4 and Huntsman 1

In Florida, the new SurveyUSA poll of likely voters conducted on 05 – 06 Dec 11: Gingrich 45; Romney 23; Bachmann 6; Perry 5; Paul 4; Huntsman 3 and Santorum 2

In Nevada, the very out of date PPP (D) poll of registered voters conducted from 20 – 23 Oct 11: Romney 29; Cain 28; Gingrich 15; Paul 7; Perry 6; Bachmann 3; Huntsman and Santorum 2 – it’s doubtful Romney continues to lead in Nevada as the majority of Cain’s supporters very likely have moved to Newt.

In the five states with the lead off primaries – or caucuses – Gingrich leads big with 3 states and a probable 4th over Romney’s 2 and very likely 1 …

Concerning how the GOTP “candidates stack up against the President; according to a Rasmussen Reports poll of likely voters conducted 30 Nov – 01 Dec 11, if the general election were held today:

President Obama 42/Romney 40

According to a Rasmussen Reports poll of likely voters conducted 06 – 07 Dec 11, if the general election were held today:

President Obama 45/Gingrich 40

So, if the GOTP clown car had finally stopped spinning, and the general election was held today, Newton Leroy Gingrich would be the GOTP nominee, but he would’ve lost to President Obama.

The President Revealed Osama Bin Laden Death News Too Soon?

The Huffington Post’s reporting Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential tag along Ricky “the Ric” Santorum’s attacking President Obama, feebly attempting to turn the killing of Osama Bin Laden into a national security failure?

At a forum sponsored by the Republican Jewish Coalition, Ricky reportedly said the President made a huge mistake when he announced the news of Bin Laden’s death too soon, and if he knew anything about Iran’s nuclear ambitions or an explosion at an Iranian missile base last month, he wouldn’t be able to keep it to himself.

“I would like to think that we had something to do that with that missile site but given the president’s record on — with Osama Bin Laden and not being able to keep a secret of everything good that he did for an even more than 24 hours, I suspect we’d know if we had anything to do with that explosion,” he said, according to Talking Points Memo.

“When Osama Bin Laden was killed a lot of the intelligence community was hoping that the President would keep that close so they could exploit the information that they gained from the computer files they picked up at that residence,” he elaborated later. “But the president just couldn’t help himself, he just had to go out and take credit for it and I think as a result of that we didn’t maximize the cache of information that we gained during that mission.”

OK, first of all Ricky, the death of Bin Laden was something America had been waiting to hear since the morning of 11 Sep 01; it wasn’t something to be kept “close so they could exploit information”; second, until you have something to show for your efforts as a so-called “presidential candidate” perhaps you should just shut your pie hole concerning foreign policy decisions by the President; unless of course you’re carrying water for one of the front runners, hoping to be the VP pick?

Ricky also criticized the President for being soft on Islamic extremism.

“This president, for every thug and hooligan, for every radical Islamist, he has had nothing but appeasement,” he said. “Ladies and gentlemen, learn from history.”

Nothing but appeasement Ricky? So, sending in Navy Seals and taking Bin Laden out was appeasement? Killing Anwar al-Awlaki with a drone strike was appeasement? Supporting the rebel forces in Libya leading to the overthrow and death of Gadhafi was appeasement? Ricky is – in the words of Shakespeare – an ass (as in jack-ass for the literary disinclined).

Santorum’s clearly trying to position himself as a VP pick for whomever eventually comes out on top of the Mittens/Newter fight; he’s made a lot of statements in the past week, flaying wildly and hoping to get press and air time; his campaign’s never had traction and it’s highly unlikely it ever will; fact is it’ll never get traction because Santorum’s an ass who repeatedly makes these kinds of ridiculous charges. Claiming the President’s been soft on Islamic extremism might play well in Tea Party Land but it’s lying, and it’s incredibly obtuse; clearly the President’s record on prosecuting the War on Terror has been sterling, and outside of FOX PAC groupies and Ditto-heads no one else is going to buy what Ricky’s selling.

Christmas miracle – 8 year old leaves Bachmann speechless

Plummeting like a stone Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential candidate Michele “Krazy” Bachmann was left speechless after an awkward encounter with a young activist named Elijah at a South Carolina book signing Huffington Post is reporting.

Krazy greeted the soft-spoken 8-year-old and his mother at a meet-and-greet event for her new book, “Core of Conviction: My Story,” which was released last month.

“My mommy — Miss Bachmann, my mommy’s gay but she doesn’t need fixing,” Elijah said to Bachmann, after some lighthearted coaxing. A dumbfounded Bachmann then reportedly shot the boy’s mother an icy look before the pair walked away.

Of course, the response from conservative talking heads will be, “How dare that woman put her child up to this!” Instead of, well, perhaps we in the GOTP should start separating Church and State the way the revered Founding Fathers always thought it should be. It’s always fun to watch conservatives bend themselves into apoplectic pretzels screaming about how Islam’s greatest desire is to force Sharia Law upon the west, but they have absolutely no problem with forcing their own form of Christian Evangelical Sharia Law on everyone. Discrimination is wrong, and the government shouldn’t be legislating morality – and especially not Michele Bachmann’s version of it.

Cain voters to go home to Bachmann?

Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential candidate Herman “Pizza Man” Cain has dropped out, and fellow GOTP hopeful Michele “Krazy” Bachmann has decided she deserves to inherit the support formerly given to him; why would they do that you might ask?

“A lot of Herman Cain supporters have been calling our office and they’ve been coming over to our side,” she said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I think they see my voice will be most reflective of his.”

Of course all polling numbers to the contrary. Cain’s campaign began unraveling in recent weeks as allegations of sexual misconduct became more numerous, capped with the revelation he’d allegedly been involved in an affair with a woman for the past 13 years; coupled with astonishing flubs and mistakes during interviews and it was over; but even as its been falling apart and his poll numbers have been dropping, there’s been no corresponding rise in Bachmann’s numbers. Let me say that again, there’s been no corresponding rise in Bachmann’s numbers; zero, zilch, nada …

Bachmann said Tea Party voters will ultimately “come home” to her campaign and boost her bid for president at the upcoming Iowa caucuses.

“When they find out I’m the candidate that stands the most for their values, that’s when they come home,” she said on CNN.

Really? Well, the latest Des Moines Register poll of likely voters, conducted 27 – 30 Nov 11, shows no indication of flocking as of yet, and they show absolutely no increase in Krazy’s numbers when compared with an Insider Advantage poll conducted at the beginning of the month. Bachmann’s polling percentage has remained pretty consistent at about 8% for the entire month, while Cain’s meteoric rise of 30% plummeted to 8%; and where’d his voters go? It appears the majority went to Newton Leroy Gingrich who rose from 12 to 25%, and to Ron Paul who rose from 9 to 18%.

So you keep on dreaming Michelle, you keep on having those “happy thoughts” of how Cain’s supporters will rally to your banner, and carry you on to victory; those and some fairy dust, and one day you’ll fly Peter Pan.

And then there were seven – Cain says good-bye

The Associated Press (AP) is reporting Republican Tea Party (GOTP) wannabe Herman Cain’s suspending his bid for the Republican presidential nomination to avoid continued news coverage of allegations of sexual misconduct that’s hurtful to his family.

“I am suspending my presidential campaign because of the continued distractions and the continued hurt caused on me and my family,” Cain told several hundred supporters gathered at what was to have been the opening of his national campaign headquarters.

So, Cain’s dropping out because of the evil media’s coverage of the sexual allegations, but not because of his own misconduct?

Cain’s announcement came five days after an Atlanta-area woman claimed she and Cain had an affair for more than a decade, a claim which followed several allegations of sexual harassment against him.

“But because of these false and unproved accusations, it has paid and had a tremendous painful price on my family,” Cain said, with his wife, Gloria, standing behind him on the stage.

“Now here’s why it hurts – because my wife, my family and I, we know that those false and unproved allegations are not true; so one of the first declarations that I want to make to you today is that I am at peace with my God. I am at peace with my wife. And she is at peace with me.

And with that Herman “Pizza Man” Cain becomes a footnote to the 2012 GOTP Presidential primary season; good-bye Herman you’ve provided us all with hours of rib tickling entertainment.

Latest 2012 Presidential Polls – 01 Dec 11 Edition

A new Rasmussen Reports poll of likely voters conducted 30 Nov 11 has been released concerning the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) nominating circus; the current poll results are:

Newton Leroy Gingrich 38; Mittens Romney 17; Herman “Pizza Man” Cain 8; Ronny Paul 8; Reverend Rick Perry 4; Michele “Krazy” Bachmann 4; Ricky “The Ric” Santorum 4 and  Jon “I can’t believe it’s not butter” Huntsman 3

The GOTP version of the Island of Misfit Candidates continues with Newton gaining a commanding lead over Bridesmaid Mittens and the Pizza Man beginning to burn up on re-entry; Reverend Ricky, Paul and Krazy all continue to drop like the stone in the well, while Huntsman maintains his bottom dwelling mud sucker status as Santorum continues to just sit and basically not go up or down. No one has scored this significant of a lead over the pack – ever, and considering it’s the uber-conservative Rasmussen polling organization this should be a huge concern for Mittens who went running to Texas today to plead for help from Bush 41.

In Iowa, a new Insider Advantage poll of likely voters conducted 28 Nov 11: Gingrich 28; Paul 13; Romney 12; Cain 10; Bachmann 10; Perry 7; Santorum 3 and Huntsman ?

In New Hampshire, Rasmussen Reports conducted a poll of likely voters conducted 28 Nov 11: Mittens 34; Gingrich 24; Paul 14; Huntsman 11; Cain 5; Perry 2; Bachmann 2 and Santorum 1

In South Carolina, the new Insider Advantage poll of likely voters conducted 28 Nov 11: Gingrich 38; Romney 15; Cain 13; Paul 7; Perry 4; Bachmann 3; Santorum 2 and Huntsman ?

In Florida, the new Insider Advantage poll of likely voters conducted on 29 Nov 11: Gingrich 41; Romney 17; Cain 13; Perry 7; Paul 4; Bachmann 3; Santorum 1 and Huntsman ? …

In Nevada, the PPP (D) poll of registered voters conducted from 20 – 23 Oct 11: Romney 29; Cain 28; Gingrich 15; Paul 7; Perry 6; Bachmann 3; Huntsman and Santorum 2 …

In the five states with the lead off primaries – or caucuses – Gingrich leads big over Romney 3 – 2

Concerning how the GOTP “candidates stack up against the President; according to a Rasmussen Reports poll of likely voters conducted 21 – 22 Nov 11, if the general election were held today:

President Obama 44/Romney 38

According to a Rasmussen Reports poll of likely voters conducted 19 – 20 Nov 11, if the general election were held today:

President Obama 46/Gingrich 40

So, if the GOTP clown car had finally stopped spinning, and the general election was held today, Newton Leroy Gingrich would be the nominee, and he would’ve lost to President Obama.

Krazy would close the U.S. embassy in Iran?

The Huffington Post is reporting Republican Tea Party (GOTP) plummeting political asteroid Michele “Krazy” Bachmann’s told supporters in Iowa of her plans for American diplomacy, claiming a Bachmann presidency would mean no U.S. embassy in Iran.

There’s only one big problem with her plans, the U.S. hasn’t actually had a functioning embassy in Iran since 1980.

Krazy’s always been an outspoken critic of Iran and earlier this month she actually urged the Pentagon to “prepare a war plan” in case of it acquiring a nuclear weapon. She later alleged that the Middle Eastern nation had threatened to launch nuclear warheads at the U.S. and Israel. PolitiFact quickly pointed out the fact her claim was, how can I say this? “False!”

So, sports fans, this is just one more example of how Bachmann really is as ignorant as she looks, and it proves she’s not now, nor ever will be, ready for prime time.

The campaign’s all but over?

The Associated Press (AP) is reporting that former Republican Tea Party (GOTP) frontrunner Herman “Pizza Man” Cain is still campaigning for president; but anyone with an ounce of sense – which rules out both Cain and Michele Bachmann – knows his White House bid is all but over.

“His chance at winning the presidency are effectively zero,” said Dave Welch, a Republican Tea Party strategist who worked on both of John McCain’s presidential bids.

That’s an interesting proposition Mr. Welch, except Cain’s chances of winning the White House have always been effectively zero.

One of the “no duh” moments in this so-called campaign came today when the Pizza Man told the New Hampshire Union Leader that his wife, Gloria, didn’t know he was providing the 46-year-old Atlanta-area businesswoman with money for “month-to-month bills and expenses.”

And, guess what? Cain also said, his wife didn’t know of what he called a “friendship” with White until she said publicly that she had a casual 13-year affair with Cain that ended about eight months ago.

“I’m still backing him, but I definitely think it’s a bigger and bigger mountain to climb,” Florida state Rep. Carlos Trujillo said after White emerged. “It’s going to be difficult to make up that ground in so short an amount of time.”

Difficult?! Difficult?! Were dropped as a child; repeatedly?!

First, if he’d ever been a real candidate – meaning he had a snow ball’s chance of winning – it’d be impossible after the sexual harassment charges and a woman saying she’d had a 13 year affair with him’ second, since he was never a serious candidate, there was never a chance, even less than a snow ball’s chance. Seriously, what’s fetching wrong with you people?!

Cain’s said he’s reassessing and re-evaluating whether to remain in the race and will only make that decision after speaking face-to-face with his wife of 42 years.

He should’ve said after he speaking to his wives’ attorney; good luck with that conversation.

“Turn out the lights, there’s never been a party – it seems that all good things must end” – like his so-called campaign and his so-called marriage.

Drug Testing For ‘Any Kind of Federal Aid’?

Huffington Post is reporting current Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential darling Newton “Stay Puffed” Gingrich thinks the federal government should make it more expensive to be a drug user.

“It could be through testing before you get any kind of federal aid,” Gingrich told Yahoo’s Chris Moody in an interview on Saturday. “Unemployment compensation, food stamps, you name it.”

Newton’s suggestion is popular amongst the uber-conservatives, and many GOTP Governors and legislators have been proposing drug testing the poor and jobless as a way for the government to save money on programs like welfare and unemployment insurance; the idea being of course that the vast majority of those receiving these benefits are drug addicted welfare queens driving around in their Cadillacs; only the sunshine state of Florida actually enacted a new requirement, but it was promptly locked by a federal court.

“It has always struck me that if you’re serious about trying to stop drug use, then you need to find a way to have a fairly easy approach to it and you need to find a way to be pretty aggressive about insisting — I don’t think actually locking up users is a very good thing,” Newton reportedly said. “I think finding ways to sanction them and to give them medical help and to get them to detox is a more logical long-term policy.”

For three months – July to October – Florida required welfare applicants to submit to mandatory urine testing to prove they weren’t using drugs. The policy was stopped with an injunction from a federal judge, finding the 35-year-old single father who claimed the test violated his constitutional rights would be substantially likely to win his case. Courts also found the same policy unconstitutional when Michigan tried it in 1999.

Newton is pandering to the far-right yet again in an effort to win their votes in the primaries; problem is if he wins the nomination he’s going to have to run back to the center to have any hope of winning and that doesn’t seem very likely after pledging his political soul to the uber-conservative tea party affiliates; here’s a better idea for the GOTP front runner, why not propose mandatory drug testing for radio talk show hosts?
