Latest 2016 Presidential Polls – 18 July 2015 Edition

Cue calliope music, please.

decision 2016

The 2016 Presidential Election season grinds forward – the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) clown car has graduated into the 2016 GOTP Clown Bus (probably a 1960’s era VW Bus) currently 16 occupants at last count – past, I am sure, critical mass – while the Democratic Party drags along, picking up a contender here and a contender there.

Where are things as we slide past the first mid-July point of the 2016 campaign season? Funny you should ask (clown honking horn in the background).

Nationally, in two polls the crown prince of GOTP comedy – “The Donald” – has taken the lead.

A Suffolk University/USA Today Poll, conducted by telephone of “registered voters” from July 9 to 12, 2015 has the GOTP Clown Bus lining up thus:

Donald Trump has jumped out to the lead at 17%
Jeb Bush 14%
Scott Walker 8%
Ted Cruz, the Junior Senator for Ottawa 6%
Marco Rubio 5%
Ben Carson, Rand Paul, and Mike Huckabee 4%
Chris Christie 3%
Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, John Kasich, Bobby Jindal, and Carly Fiorina 1%
Lindsey Graham is bringing up the rear at 0%

Not to be outdone, a Fox News Poll, conducted by telephone of “registered voters” from July 13 to 15, 2015 has the GOTP Clown Bus lining up this way:

Trump leads at 18%
Walker moves up in the seating chart to 15%
Bush falls to third at 14%
Paul 8%
Rubio 7%
Carson 6%
Huckabee and Cruz 4%
Christie 3%
Santorum and Kasich 2%
Perry and Fiorina 1%
Jindal and Graham are sweeping up after the parade at 0%

Trump is also currently in second place behind Walker in a Monmouth Poll in Iowa.

According to the rules of the first Republican/Tea Party 2016 Debate sponsored by Fox News and set for 6 August 2015, only candidates who place in the top 10 in an average of the five most recent national polls prior to the event will be on the stage.

The averages for the 16 contenders in the GOTP Happy Meal Box are as follows:

1 – Bush 15.5%
2 -Trump 15%
3 – Walker 9%
4 – Paul 6.3%
5 – Rubio 6%
6 – Carson 5.8%
7 – Huckabee 5.8%
8 – Cruz 5.5%
9 – Christie 2.8%
10 – Perry and or Santorum 2% (unclear how Fox will determine who gets the coveted slot)

The rest get to watch from a nearby pub crying into their beer

Kasich 1.5%
Jindal 1.3%
Fiorina 1%
Graham 0.3% (Seriously? Placing lower than Fiorina has to be the worse possible feeling)

On the Democratic side, the Suffolk University/USA Today Poll has:

Hillary Clinton still way out in front with 59%
Bernie Sanders at 14%
Vice-President Joe Biden 8%
Martin O’Malley, Jim Webb and Lincoln Chafee 2%

The Fox News Poll shakes out as follows:

Clinton 59%
Sanders 19%
Vice President Biden 8%
O’Malley, Webb, and Chafee 1%

According to a Suffolk University/USA Today Poll, if the General Election was today:

Clinton 51/Trump 34
Clinton 49/Carson 36
Clinton 49/Huckabee 40
Clinton 48/Paul 38
Clinton 48/Walker 37
Clinton 46/Bush 42
Clinton 46/Rubio 40

The poll did not ask voters about a match-up between Clinton and Christie, Perry, Kasich, Fiorina, Santorum or Graham.

According to recent polling data available, if the election was today Hillary Clinton would be the 45th President of the United States, and the others would still be footnotes in history books.

Latest 2016 Presidential Polls – 20 April 2015 Edition

The 2016 Presidential Election season rolls on, and the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) clown car spins and swerves from one fantastic tale to another while former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is driving her “Scooby Mobile” into New Hampshire this week.

decision 2016

Where are things in these early moments of the 2016 campaign?

Nationally, a CNN/ORC poll of voters describing themselves as “republicans” or “independents who lean republican” conducted 16-19 April 2015, has former Florida Governor Jeb Bush leading the group of GOTP candidates and likely candidates. Jeb Bush 17%, Scott Walker 12%, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio 11%, Mike Huckabee 9%, Ted Cruz 7%, Ben Carson and Chris Christie 4%, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum 3%, while Bobby Jindal and John Kasich 2%.

On the Democratic side, a CNN/ORC poll of voters describing themselves as “Democrat” or “independents who lean Democrat” conducted 16-19 April 2015, has Clinton in a commanding lead of undeclared candidates with 69%, followed by Joe Biden 11%, Bernie Sanders 5%, Jim Webb 3% Martin O’Malley at 1%.

How do things stack up if the General Election was today? The same CNN/ORC poll has Hillary Clinton beating all GOTP comers by double digits.

Clinton 55/Rubio 41

Clinton 56/Bush 39

Clinton 58/Paul 39

Clinton 58/Christie 39

Clinton 59/Walker 37

Clinton 58/Huckabee 37

Clinton 60/Cruz 36

Clinton 60/Carson 36

According to recent polling data available, if the election was today Hillary Clinton would be the 45th President of the United States, and the others would be footnotes in history books.

How quickly they forget

I think it almost goes without saying that Republican Tea Party (GOTP) Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin is an idiot, and he most recently proved this point while making a big splash in the little pond of far-right American conservatism for his disrespectfully unprofessional heated confrontation with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

ron johnson

It was during that hearing this moron alleged President of the United States had “purposefully misled” about the nature of the Benghazi, Libya, terrorist attack on Sept. 11, 2012 that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

What is there to mislead about Senator? It was a terrorist attack, by a small group of individuals, which killed four Americans on a consulate building which had inadequate security because the GOTP House had cut spending for such frivolous things. By-the-way, the President said it was a terrorist attack as soon as the very next day after the attack, but of course when it comes to GOTP Senators facts are merely inconveniences in today’s world.

Concerning Johnson’s open criticism; how quickly the weak minded forget what they’ve said in the past; in fact during his senate bid in 2010 against Democratic Senator Russ Feingold, a very outspoken critic of the Bush Administration’s mishandling of two wars, then candidate Johnson disapproved of criticizing foreign policy publicly when there are troops in the field. “There’s an appropriate way of opposing a policy and an inappropriate way,” he told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “The appropriate way if I’m a U.S. senator is going to be not public. If I’m opposed to something, I’ll make those views known very, very well, but privately with the administration.”

Johnson obviously has forgotten he ever held such a view, and even called Secretary Clinton’s answers a “good excuse,” to which Clinton replied, “Well no, that’s a fact.”

Eventually the Secretary of State had enough of the Senator’s sophomoric behavior and told Johnson, “With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk last night who decided to kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator.”

“Senator” Johnson’s a bully plain and simple; he’s a disgrace and embarrassment in an ever growing long line of disgraceful and embarrassing conservatives currently serving Washington. But that’s OK; keep it up, eventually there’ll be enough sound bites and video clips for your next opponent to be able to show what an absolute waste of space you’ve been. The people of Wisconsin, and certainly the American deserve better than this.

Lindsey Graham claims Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ‘Got Away With Murder’?

According to news reports, Republican Tea Party (GOTP) Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina’s claiming outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “got away with murder” in the Benghazi attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

graham

“I haven’t forgotten about Benghazi. Hillary Clinton got away with murder, in my view,” Graham pontificated on Fox News Monday evening, speaking to Greta Van Susteren. “She said they had a clear-eyed view of the threats. How could you have a clear-eyed view of the threats in Benghazi when you didn’t know about the ambassador’s cable coming back from Libya?”

Well Senator, how about this? Perhaps if the uber-conservative GOTP members of the House hadn’t slashed funding for embassy defenses the four Americans would still be alive? The hypocrisy of the right knows no bounds, it’s amazing how this attack’s somehow criminally negligent but the death of more than 3,000 Americans on 9-11, and then sending more than 4,000 American soldiers to their deaths on faulty intelligence wasn’t? So, using Graham’s logic then, the Bush Administration got away not with murder, but with “mass murder”.

Hillary Clinton is a Worthless Bitch?

On the April 21 edition of his Fox “News” show, Sean Hannity asked Miss USA runner-up Carrie Prejean: “What did you think when [blogger Perez Hilton] went on this rant and actually used the “B” word? I mean, I can’t think of anything more vicious, more mean, more insulting, more degrading, just because you have a different opinion.”

Hannity was referencing a remark made by Miss. Prejean during Saturday night’s Miss USA Pageant. Miss USA judge, the gossip blogger Perez Hilton, asked about her stance on same-sex marriage. Prejean responded, “I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

My question would be, Sean, when is it OK to use the term “bitch” and when is it not OK? Looking at your remarks from Tuesday night it would appear that Perez Hilton has some how offended your good old fashioned conservative Irish Catholic sensibilities. OK, fair enough. You think there is nothing more “vicious, mean, insulting, and degrading” for anyone to call a woman. Is that right?

But wait a minute? Wasn’t it you Sean Hannity who not only didn’t find it offensive, but actually defended your “friend” Ted Nugent last August – during your television program – when during a concert Nugent not only called Democratic candidate Senator Barrack Obama a “piece of shit” and said that Democratic candidate Senator Hillary Clinton was a “worthless bitch”? Why yes it was you, Sean “I’m a great Irish Catholic Conservative American” Hannity.

During the same concert, shown in a video clip on your very own program, Nugent also made threatening remarks towards both candidates while waving what appears to be an M-16.

Why would Ted speak this way Sean?

Gee, I don’t know? Maybe because then Senator’s Obama and Clinton had a? What were your words? Oh yes, “different opinion”?

So, Sean “I’m a great Irish Catholic Conservative American” Hannity did you say anything to disavow yourself from these comments by Ted Nugent?

No you didn’t.

What did you say?

Ah yes, here it is, “That was friend and frequent guest on the program Ted Nugent expressing his feelings towards Democratic presidential contenders Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton.”

So, why didn’t you disavow Ted Nugent Sean?

Well because, “I like Ted Nugent. He’s a friend of mine.”

So, it’s OK to refer to a liberal woman as a “worthless bitch”, and a liberal black man as a “piece of shit” because they have a different opinion, but it’s not OK to say a conservative woman is a “bitch” if she has a different opinion?

So Sean, if your wife, mother, or daughter were to be a Democrat, and not agree with your opinion,  would your good old fashioned conservative Irish Catholic sensibilities allow you to call them a “bitch”?

Hypocrisy thy name is Sean Hannity.
