If Obama Weren’t Black He’d be a Tour Guide in Honolulu?

During his Tuesday radio program, GOPB spokesman, Rush Limbaugh decided there ain’t nothing like some good old fashioned race-baiting claiming that President Obama “wouldn’t have been voted president if he weren’t black.” Never mind the fact that the President was elected by the largest majority since Reagan. So, by this logic Reagan was only elected because he was old?

But wait, that’s not all, if the first comment weren’t bad enough Rush added, “If Obama weren’t black he’d be a tour guide in Honolulu.” Rush, don’t you mean he’d be a tour guide in Kenya?

According to Rush then, Black Americans only succeed in America because of their race. They can’t succeed because they’re qualified. What else has Limbaugh said regarding race? Well let’s have a look. On professional football Limbaugh said, “Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons,” Rush claimed.

And of course there’s the famous line that got him fired from ESPN, “I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well.  They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well.  I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.”

Mr. Limbaugh is a racist. He is not funny. He is not glib. He is a racist.

Limbaugh Isn’t Just a Liar, but He’s Disgusting Too

During his infamous radio broadcast yesterday – Thursday, 27 Aug 09 – Rush Limbaugh took another step toward eventually losing his radio show while discussing so-called “fake” vandalism by Democrats in Colorado.

limbaugh-4

Limbaugh said that it turned out the vandal was a transgender anarchist. But of course our red neck country boy from Missouri couldn’t leave it at that. No, our boy Rush had to be as disgusting  as possible in discussing the story.

“Now, I don’t know if this was an add-a-dick-to-me transgender or a chop-a-dick-off-of-me transgender,” Limbaugh quipped.

So, how is it that all you fine, upstanding, right-wing Republican Christians can listen to someone use this kind of language, in this kind of way, and think it’s OK?

I guess it’s acceptable to be disgusting and degrading if you’re attacking someone you personally loathe.

They’re going to have access to our bank accounts?

Today, Thursday, 27 Aug 09, Rush Limbaugh told a listener that President Obama’s Administration was going to order the IRS to make banks across the country turn over your bank account numbers to that agency. Rush? How much Oxycontin are you taking each day? More importantly, how much Oxycontin are your listeners taking each day?

ap_Rush_Limbaugh_090129_mn

Limbaugh said, “If this bill passes they’re going to have access to your bank account. They’re going to have digital, on-line access to your bank account.

“There are hideous things in the legislation.

“They’ll order every bank to turn over every account number to the IRS and they’re going to be able to go in, and if you don’t pay they’re going to debit your account for you.”

Yeah OK. Whatever.

Nowhere in the Health Care legislation does it give authority to anyone to have access to anyone’s bank accounts. This is a bald faced lie, pure and simple.

Limbaugh, the self-proclaimed “truth meter” wouldn’t know a real truthful fact if it walked up and slapped the cigar right out of his face.

Sadly our country lost a true American yesterday when Senator Edward Kennedy passed away, and even more sad, we’re still stuck with the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck.

No Businessmen in Obama Cabinet, Not One, Oh Really?

According to the Head of the GOP, Rush Limbaugh, “There is not a single businessman in the Obama Administration…you won’t find a single one, not a single businessman advising the President.” Oh really? Not a single one El Rushbo?

How about Defense Secretary, Robert Gates? Gates has been a member of the board of trustees of Fidelity Investments, and on the board of directors for NACCO Industries, Inc., Brinker international, Inc., Parker Drilling Company and Science Applications International Corporation. Gee, I don’t know Rush, sounds like business experience to me.

And then there’s Shaun Donovan, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. What’s his business background you ask? Oh, nothing much really. Prior to serving as the head of New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development he was the managing director of Prudential Mortgage Capital Company for Federal housing Administration lending and affordable housing investments. I’m no expert Rush, but that sounds a lot like a businessman to me.

Wait, there’s more. Ken Salazar, Secretary of Interior. Salazar’s business experience includes having served as a partner in his family’s farm, El Rancho Salazar. Salazar and his wife have also owned and operated small businesses, including a Dairy Queen and radio stations in Pueblo and Denver, Colorado.

And last, but certainly not least, is White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, but she’s not really a businessman, she’s a businesswoman. Jarrett served as the CEO of the Habitat Company, a real estate development and management company, and she also served as a member of the board of the Chicago Stock Exchange from 2000-2007, including serving as its chairman from 2004-2007.

Not a single one? Just barely digging I found four. C’mon all seeing, all knowing, all lying Maha Rushdi you’ll have to do better than this. Wait. I take that back. No you won’t. You’re ditto-heads will never know you’re lying because they never look anything up for themselves.

Rush is Running the Republicn Party?

So, let me get this straight, Michael Steele, the Chairman of the Republican National Committee says that Rush Limbaugh is not the “de-facto” head of the Republican Party, says that he is, and then says that Rush is only a comedian, a mere “entertainer” whose show is “incendiary” and “ugly.” But wait, as they say on infomercials, “That’s not all!” The next day Steele apologized to Limbaugh.

Mr. Steele, this is exactly why I have changed my registration from Republican to Democrat after 29 years. Rush IS a “mere entertainer” and his so-called comedy IS not only “incendiary” and “ugly”, but IS also divisive and racist. Your apology has placed Rush squarely as the “de-facto” head of the GOP. You have placed the court jester on the party’s throne, and you have made yourself the court jester.

So let’s recap, we have the likes of Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal being hailed as the future of the GOP, and Rush Limbaugh as the “de-facto” head of the party. Yeah, good luck with that.

Right Wing Radio is Fading

For two, count em two, consecutive election cycles right wing talk radio has attempted to swing the votes of the American public, and failed.

During the 2006 Congressional elections, Limbaugh, Hannity, Boortz, etc, made wild accusations trying to scare people into continuing to support a conservative political agenda responsible for Iraq, Gitmo, the Patriot Act, Abu Ghraib. They failed. In 2006, the Democrats took control of Congress in-spite-of Hannity and company claiming America couldn’t afford Nancy Pelosi, and her “San Francisco Bay area ideals”.

In 2008, the Right Wing tried again to scare America with a non-stop litany of wild accusations against Barrack Obama. They claimed he “palled around with terrorists”, “didn’t support the American Military”, and that he “hated America”. Well. Rush, Sean, Neil, etc., you were all wrong again; and you couldn’t manage to sway anyone into the McCain/Palin camp. In fact the Republican party lost states in the last election.

What does this mean? It means that by-and-large the bulk of the American public aren’t buying it anymore. Your brand of hate, doom and fear simply isn’t popular. You’ve outlasted your usefulness to the Republican party and to Reagan Conservatism.

Hannity continually likes to say things like, “What would Ronald Reagan do?” Well, Sean, for one thing Ronald Reagan would never have invaded Iraq. He would never have allowed the Federal Government to balloon as George W. Bush did. He would never have allowed secret prisons in Europe where basic human rights were forfeited, and he would never have allowed America’s Military to be used to torture prisoners. You claim to be a Reagan conservative, and yet you supported so many Bush/Cheney initiatives that Reagan never would have supported.

Sorry guys, but the only people you have paying any attention any longer are the die-hard, religious, right wing fanatics who actually thought someone like Sarah “I can see Russia from my house” Palin was ready for prime-time. Oh wait, but people who listen to right wing radio generally are the types who share the believes of folks – like Sarah – that man and dinosaurs co-existed together; or that women who are raped, and become pregnant, have no choice but to keep the spawn of a rapist. And people – like Bill O’Reilly – who will attack Jamie Lynn Spears for being a pregnant teen, but will celebrate Bristol Palin’s teen pregnancy.

Time’s up.
