According to news reports, Republican Tea Party (GOTP) Senator Rand Paul (KY) has claimed the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) had a “written policy” saying agency officials were “targeting people who were opposed to the president.”
“And when that comes forward, we need to know who wrote the policy and who approved the policy,” the Senator told CNN.
When asked for details, the junior Kentucky senator revealed he actually had no evidence of this memo, and he’d only “heard” about it. Of course, I’m not sure the voices in your head actually count in Congressional hearings as evidence or even leads.
“Well, we keep hearing the reports and we have several specifically worded items saying who was being targeted. In fact, one of the bullet points says those who are critical of the president,” Paul said. “So I don’t know if that comes from a policy, but that’s what’s being reported in the press and reported orally. I haven’t seen a policy statement, but I think we need to see that.”
The Senator’s Brain Captain later confirmed Paul’s been conducting a very hush-hush “in depth” investigation with the White Rabbit and Godzilla, and that they’re going to get to the bottom of all this.
With all due respect the very junior Senator from Kentucky is an idiot who’s trying to make a name for himself with the uber-right to position himself for 2016; please run Senator Rand, please run.

According to the Associated Press (AP), the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) controlled House Agriculture Committee’s beginning to throw together a farm bill cutting $2.5 billion in food aid, because feeding the poor has become “too expensive”.
The proposed legislation would cut roughly 3 percent from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), achieving the cuts by eliminating “broad-based categorical eligibility,” or automatic food stamp benefits when people sign up for other programs, which more than 47 million people used last year, or about 1 in 7 Americans; because of the additional numbers needing help the cost has more than doubled since 2008 due in a large part to the economic downturn caused by the disastrous economic policies of the Bush/Cheney presidency.
God fearing Christian Conservative members of Congress have repeatedly attacked the President for daring to care for the poor by expanding SNAP, and many of those same white bread House members are refusing to consider a farm bill without cuts to food stamps. Clearly they don’t read the parts of the Bible where Christ said things like, “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
“For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
“I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
“Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
“Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.”
Funny how conservatives repeatedly thump their Bibles when opposing same-sex marriage, which by-the-way isn’t mentioned anywhere in all of scripture, but then conveniently forget about their Bibles when making cuts to programs helping the poor.

Republican Tea Party (GOTP) darling and frontrunner for the party’s 2016 presidential nod is proving – yet again – how he’s not ready for prime time. While trying to demonstrate how tough he is, and how much he’s “on top of things”, Senator Marco Rubio’s reportedly sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Jack Lew strongly urging Lew, and President Obama, to “demand the IRS Commissioner’s resignation, effectively immediately.” There’s just one problem, there is no IRS Commissioner.
Fact is the last IRS commissioner, Douglas Shulman, was appointed by President George W. Bush in March of 2008 and resigned in November, and furthermore, considering the rate at which the GOTP has stonewalled everything in the Senate it’s very unlikely the President could get anyone appointed to the position, perhaps that’s why he hasn’t even tried?
Poor Marco, so clueless; is he really so misinformed that he didn’t know, or is the Senator’s staff so full of misanthropic misfits that no one bothered to check before making their boss look like a moron? At any rate, the junior senator from Florida signed the letter, and, as Harry Truman might say, “The buck stops there.”

Former President George W. Bush has said during a recent interview with the Dallas Morning News he’s comfortable with his decision-making regarding the Iraq War.
“I’m confident the decisions were made the right way,” Bush explained. “It’s easy to forget what life was like when the decision was made.”
Actually, no it’s not; we were recovering from the 9-11 attack, troops in Afghanistan were closing in on Osama Bin Laden, our nation’s debt and deficit were nowhere near where you left them and U.S. troops hadn’t started torturing prisoners.
“I’m comfortable with what I did,” he said. “I’m comfortable with who I am.”
Well, that makes two people I suppose, you and Dick Cheney.
Bush’s legacy will be one of abject failure; he failed to keep American’s safe, ignoring intelligence reports prior to the attacks on 9-11; he failed to get Osama Bin Laden, and probably allowed him to escape into Pakistan when he invaded Iraq; he led the country off a fiscal cliff into the worse economic downturn since the Great Depression. He’s not just a failure however, he’s a delusional failure, there’s no other explanation for being “comfortable” with one of the worse presidencies in United States history.

It seems an Iowan State Senator – yes from the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) Rob Bacon and eight equally wing-nut conservative fellows have decided to introduce legislation that would redefine murder, and according to the Ames Tribune, the bill would “alter the definition of a person in murder cases to “an individual human being, without regard to age of development, from the moment of conception, when a zygote is formed, until natural death.”
When asked why he would introduce something so idiotic in the 21st Century, Bacon replied, “It’s to protect the life of the unborn; there’s still some of us that believe life begins at conception.”
Essentially Bacon’s bill would make the constitutionally protected right of a woman to terminate a pregnancy illegal.
Bacon said his bill was needed to refocus the party, “I’ve felt long and hard after the last election that we need to change our message. Within our party, we’re going to differ on social issues. One of them is the right to life. There are some who say that we need to ease up on this because it’s not winning us anything. My thought is we can’t let this drop. Even if I’m in here screaming to empty walls, I will always be a voice for the unborn.”
This is the new GOTP – the modern Republican Party – and it’s not the face of America. It’s the face of fanatical uber-conservative white so-called “Christianity”. It’s the face of an angry, frustrated group which doesn’t love the Constitution and which doesn’t respect the rights of women. Please, by all means, continue introducing this type of nonsense; eventually you’ll legislate your party into historical footnote status.

According to the Army News Service funding for tuition assistance has fallen as a casualty of the ongoing budget sequester battle between the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) controlled House and the President; as a result, soldiers cannot submit new requests for tuition assistance, according to LTG Howard B. Bromberg, deputy chief of staff, G-1.
Approval for the tuition assistance (TA), stoppage came from Secretary of the Army John McHugh, and affects Soldiers from both the active and reserve components.
While it’s reported that soldiers currently enrolled in courses approved for TA are not impacted, and will be allowed to complete their funded coursework, there will be no further expenditures until the current impasse has been breached.
According to LTG Bromberg, the suspension in funding “is necessary given the significant budget execution challenges caused by the combined effects of a possible year-long continuing resolution and sequestration, and will remain in effect until the fiscal situation matures.”
Bromberg also said, “The Army understands the impacts of this action and will re-evaluate should the budgetary situation improve.”
While the TA funding, which is funded from the Army’s budget, soldiers can continue their education using alternate methods; those methods include GI Bill funding, which is derived from the Department of Veterans Affairs, is available and Soldiers can continue their education using this benefit. The GI Bill includes the Montgomery GI Bill, Post 9/11 GI Bill and several other education programs.
So, basically the GOTP has once again stuck it to the soldiers. When everyone stepped up after 9-11 there were crowds of conservative Americans waving flags and proclaiming how they supported the troops. If you still support the troops, step up and tell Congress to fix this now, if you’re unwilling to do that, well, then it’s time to take your patriotic ribbon magnet off your car, and stop being a hypocrite.

Holy time warp Batman, according to news reports the United States Attorney General thinks it could use military force to kill an American on U.S. soil in an “extraordinary circumstance”; no we’re not talking about George W. Bush’s administration here, we’re talking about President Barrack Obama’s, but fortunately it has “no intention of doing so,” at least according to a letter from General Eric Holder.
The letter was disclosed by Republican Tea Party (GOTP) Senator Rand Paul, who had asked whether the Justice Department believed the President had legal authority to order a targeted strike against an American citizen located within the United States.
According to Holder, while the President rejected the use of military force where “well-established law enforcement authorities in this country provide the best means for incapacitating a terrorist threat.” Theoretically, it’d be legal for the him to order such an attack under certain circumstances, he claimed.
“The question you have posed is therefore entirely hypothetical, unlikely to occur, and one we hope no president will ever have to confront. It is possible, I suppose, to imagine an extraordinary circumstance in which it would be necessary and appropriate under the Constitution and applicable laws of the United States for the President to authorize the military to use lethal force within the territory of the United States,” Holder wrote.
“For example, the president could conceivably have no choice but to authorize the military to use such force if necessary to protect the homeland in the circumstances like a catastrophic attack like the ones suffered on December 7, 1941, and September 11, 2001,” Holder continued, referring to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Holder said he would “examine the particular facts and circumstances” if such an emergency were to arise.
On this issue the Attorney General needs his head thoroughly examined; there are no legitimate uses of drone strikes within the United States on its own citizen’s, period. There is no “theoretical” for which this would ever apply, period. Would the Attorney General also “theorize” there are legitimate times when the President would authorize the use of nuclear weapons by the government on American soil against its own?
Just as the Bush Administration was wrong on everything from failing to protect the United States against terrorists, to lying about WMDs in Iraq to approving water boarding and torturing of prisoners, so too is the Obama Administration wrong on this. Fix it Mr. President; if we’d wanted more of the same we’d have elected the other guy.

According to news reports, Vice President Joe Biden said there’s no reason that people should need to own an assault weapon.
The Vice President was taking part in a Facebook Town Hall hosted by Parents magazine, and took a handful of questions from readers about gun violence. One question cited a well worn right wing talking point, mewing how gun owners would be unable to protect themselves if Congress passed a bill banning certain weapons and high-capacity gun magazines.
“Kate, if you want to protect yourself, get a double barreled shotgun,” the Vice President responded. “I promise you, as I told my wife, we live in an area that’s wooded and somewhat secluded. I said, Jill, if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here, walk out, put [up] that double barreled shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house.”
“You don’t need an AR-15,” he said. “Buy a shotgun! Buy a shotgun!”
The Vice President also said he doesn’t support making changes to the Second Amendment and described America’s “really healthy gun culture,” which was a “part of my father’s ethic.” He clarified to another questioner that nobody wants to take away people’s guns.
“I have two shotguns at home,” he said. “No one is going to come and take my guns.”
OK, thank you Mr. Vice President, will it make any difference with right wing gun fanatics? No it won’t. However, facts are a shot gun is the best possible weapon for home defense; an assault rifles muzzle velocity makes it an extremely dangerous weapon in the home, as it can send a round through multiple walls and possibly into your neighbor’s house or out into the street, putting a lot of innocent people at risk, whereas a shotgun’s ammo will not do that, while combing excellent stopping power in the confined space of a home. No it’s not as glamorous, but what do you want, glam or stopping power? Do you want to look cool, or stop an intruder? You don’t need assault rifles or high capacity magazines to protect your home from an intruder, and you’re not going to fight off the imagined “guvmint” bad guys either; this isn’t 1775 – ever heard of drones?

There comes a time when some individuals should, as Douglas MacArthur once famously said, “fade away”. Clearly, it’s past time for the 2008 GOTP Presidential footnote, Senator John McCain. This past weekend, while a guest on Meet the Press, discussing his party’s ongoing misuse of the filibuster and how contentious the confirmation hearings for defense secretary nominee Chuck Hagel had become, McCain became belligerent and it seems, began to speak without his brain being fully engaged; his stinging defeat to President Obama clearly shaping his need for revenge at all cost.
When asked about the contentious hearings McCain began to lambast the host seeming to say the Senate hearings had become so bad due to the lack of information from the White House surrounding the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks in Benghazi as a “massive cover-up.”
“There are so many answers we don’t know,” McCain claimed. “We’ve had two movies about getting bin Laden and we don’t even know who the people were who were evacuated from the consulate the day after the [Benghazi] attack. So there are many, many questions. So we’ve had a massive cover-up on the part of the administration.”
Host David Gregory tried unsuccessfully to get McCain to clarify what he meant by “a massive cover-up.”
To which McCain then started almost shouting, “I’m asking you, do you care whether four Americans died? And shouldn’t people be held accountable for the fact that four Americans died?”
“Well, what you said was the cover-up–a cover-up of what?” Gregory asked.
“Of the information concerning the deaths of four brave Americans,” McCain replied. “The information has not been forthcoming. You obviously believe that it has. I know that it hasn’t. And I’ll be glad to send you a list of the questions that have not been answered, including ‘What did the president do and who did he talk to the night of the attack on Benghazi?'”
McCain continued: “Why did the president for two weeks, for two weeks during the heat of the campaign continue to say he didn’t know whether it was a terrorist attack or not? Is it because it interfered with the line ‘Al Qaeda has [been] decimated’? And ‘everything’s fine in that in that part of the world’? Maybe. We don’t know. But we need the answers. Then we’ll reach conclusions. But we have not received the answers. And that’s a fact.”
McCain never answered any of the questions put to him, he seemed to be the grandfather at Thanksgiving dinner rambling from one topic to the next, unable to ever coherently clarify what he’s talking about, just speaking louder and angrier the more you try to comprehend where he’s going.
There is no cover up on Benghazi, there have been countless hearings and reportedly more than 10,000 pages of testimony given; plainly, as stated earlier, it’s past time for the Senator to begin fading away before he begins screaming, “Ahh, but the strawberries that’s… that’s where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt and with… geometric logic… that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox DID exist, and I’d have produced that key if they hadn’t of pulled the Caine out of action. I, I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow officers…”
It’s one thing to serve the people; it’s another to continue appearing as a petulant loser who’s coming unglued, incapable of moving on.
