The campaign season moves into the New Year’s week with Trump assassinating Iranian Major General Soleimani without consulting Congress, Democratic candidate Julian Castro bailing out of the race, and the House Speaker continuing to hold the Articles of Impeachment until the Senate Majority leader decides to fulfill his Constitutional oath of office.
So, where are things as we move into the New Year? Nationally, former Vice-President Joe Biden continues to lead the pack for the Democratic Party nomination.
The Economist/YouGov poll, conducted 28-31 December 2019, of 1,500 adults places the current rankings as such:

Bernie Sanders 19%
Elizabeth Warren 18%
Pete Buttigieg 8%
Amy Klobuchar 4%
Mike Bloomberg, Andrew Yang, and Tusi “Present” Gabbard 3%
Cory Booker and Tom Steyer 2%
In the Morning Consult poll, conducted December 23-29, 2019, among a sample of 17,787 survey interviews, has the Democratic race lining up thus:
Biden 32%
Sanders 21%
Warren 14%
Buttigieg 8%
Bloomberg 6%
Yang 5%
Booker, Steyer and Klobuchar 3%
In The Hill/HarrisX poll, conducted from December 27-28, 2019:
Biden 28%
Sanders 16%
Warren and Bloomberg 11%
Buttigieg 9%
Klobuchar, Yang, Booker, Gabbard, and Castro 2%
According to recent polling data available, if the election were today, odds are any of the top Democrat contenders would be the 46th President of the United States, and Trump, who is the 3rd man in U.S. history to be impeached, will still go down as one of the most useless and immoral persons to ever sit in the Oval Office. While Warren and Sanders are losing ground in heads-up polling state-to-state, former Vice-President Biden continues to hold steady.
