Latest 2012 Presidential Polls – (pre-Louisiana Primary) 23 Mar 12 Edition

Willard Mitt Romney won Illinois and then was promptly called an Etch-A-Sketch by his Communication’s Director on national television; big win ruined by an idiotic comment by someone on his own team.

Speaking of his win, in Illinois’ Direct Election Primary (69 delegates Romney took out the competition like Sarah Palin with a bat on a baby seal winning 42 delegates; Santorum limped up the beach with 10 delegates and Gingrich and Paul were splayed with 0 delegates.

Next in the mill is Louisiana’s Proportional Primary – 24 mar 12 (46 delegates) where we’re likely to see the next Santorum “surge”: PPP (D) poll of likely voters conducted 21 – 22 Mar 12; Santorum 42; Romney 28; Gingrich 18 and Paul 8.

Wisconsin’s Winner Take All Primary – 3 Apr 12 (42 delegates) also likely to be a Santorum win: PPP (D) poll of registered voters conducted 23 – 26 Feb 12; Santorum 43; Romney 27; Gingrich 10 and Paul 8.

The regular season records for the undaunted candidates: Romney 21; Santorum 9; Gingrich 2 and Paul 0.

The GOTP Delegate Count to date is: Romney 560; Santorum 246; Gingrich 141 and Paul 66.

The current GOTP Popular Vote Count is:

Romney 4,070,110

Santorum 2,758,186

Gingrich 2,182,346

Paul 1,068,291

Nationally the GOTP Nomination according to the latest Gallup Tracking poll of registered voters conducted 18 – 22 Mar 12: Romney 40; Santorum 26; Gingrich 14 and Paul 8 with 12% undecided.

So, how does each of the Four Horseman of the GOPocalypse stack up against the President? The latest PPP (D) poll of registered voters conducted 15 – 17 Mar 12; if the general election were held today:

President Obama 48/Romney 44

President Obama 48/Santorum 45

President Obama 50/Gingrich 42

President Obama 46/Paul 43

If the GOTP clown car had finally stopped spinning, and the general election was held today, Willard Mitt Romney would be the GOTP nominee, and he’d lose to President Obama in the general election.

If the General Election were held today, the Electoral College totals based on current poll numbers:

Where has the Obama administration really taken us?

A conservative friend recently posted a Facebook video seen by dozens of people on Glenn Beck’s web TV show, asking the question, “Where has the Obama administration really taken us?”

Of course, people like Beck don’t really expect anyone to answer the question with facts, but nevertheless, here are the answers:

After more than seven years, billions of dollars wasted, 4,484 American dead and 32,200 Americans wounded he got us out of Iraq and in ending the war there has allowed America to strike decisive blows against our enemies. As the President said in his State of the Union Address, “From Pakistan to Yemen, the al Qaeda operatives who remain are scrambling, knowing that they can’t escape the reach of the United States of America.”

He’s drawing down the number of American forces in Afghanistan – after more than ten years of war, badly mishandled by his predecessor who decided the real war on terror was against Saddam Hussein and not the guy who had his followers fly airplanes into buildings – with plans to have all American forces out by the summer of 2014.

He ended the previous stop-loss policy that kept soldiers in Iraq/Afghanistan longer than their enlistment date

He ended Bush/Cheney policy of awarding no-bid defense contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan, the kind that led to faulty wiring and the electrocution of American soldiers trying to shower.

He ended the Bush policy of not paying for things in the budget, like the two wars, Medicare Part B and his infamous tax breaks for the uber-rich. We have a side seam splitting debt because those wars were finally included on the books.

He issued executive orders closing secret CIA detention/interrogation facilities in Eastern Europe started by Bush/Cheney; he also signed a detailed executive order banning the torture and inhumane treatment of prisoners previously approved and practiced under Bush/Cheney

He authorized operations responsible for taking out Osama Bin Laden, Anwar al-Awlaki, and more than 20 top Al Qaeda leaders

He authorized American military support of militants in Libya leading to the overthrow and death of terrorist sponsor Moammar Gadhafi

He’s given advanced weapons to Israel which his predecessor refused to provide, and has increased aid to Israel

He’s authorized (on more than one occasion) Navy Seals to free hostages held by Somali “pirates”- most recently this week

He’s put more boots on the border than ever before; resulting in more arrests, more deportations and fewer illegal crossings now than when he took office.

He’s authorized construction/opening of additional health centers to care for veterans

He ended “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, doing away with a frivolous regulation responsible for accomplishing nothing of benefit to the defense of this nation.

He led the efforts to reverse a downward spiral of the stock market which on 19 Jan 09, the last day of President Bush’s presidency, closed at 8,218.22 on 19 Mar 12, closed at 13,239.13

After the disastrous economic freefall and catastrophic loss of jobs during the last year of the Bush administration he’s led the economic recovery responsible for creating almost 4 million jobs during the last 24 months, including more jobs created in the last year since 2005

On the day he took office, the American auto industry was on the verge of collapse. Some even said he should let it die (Willard Mitt Romney). With a million jobs at stake, he refused to let that happen. In exchange for help, he demanded responsibility. He got workers and automakers to settle their differences. He got the industry to retool and restructure. Today, General Motors is back on top as the world’s number one automaker. Chrysler has grown faster in the U.S. than any major car company. Ford is investing billions in U.S. plants and factories. And together, the entire industry added nearly 160,000 jobs.

He led the effort to pass the $789 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (economic stimulus plan) creating some 2.1 million jobs and responsible for providing badly needed funding for repair of a failing national infrastructure (I should know because I was in charge of ensuring the ARRA money given to the Corps of Engineers in our local District was spent according to the law).

He created a Trade Enforcement Unit charged with investigating unfair trade practices in countries like China, conducting more inspections to prevent counterfeit or unsafe goods from crossing our borders.

He ended previous administration’s policy of offering tax benefits to corporations who outsource American jobs; the new policy is to promote in-sourcing to bring jobs back

He ended previous practice of protecting credit card companies; in place of it are new consumer protections from credit card industry’s predatory practices

He provided tax credits to first-time home buyers through the Worker, Homeownership, and Business Assistance Act of 2009 to revitalize the U.S. housing market

He led the effort to pass the Children’s Health Insurance Reauthorization Act providing quality health care to 11 million kids – 4 million who were previously uninsured

He signed an executive order removing restrictions on embryonic stem-cell research

He led the efforts to extend healthcare to more than 30 million previously uninsured Americans

He’s a stalwart supporter of a woman’s right to choose

He appointed the first Latina to the Supreme Court

He directed his Administration to allow the development of clean energy on enough public land to power three million homes, and directed the Department of Defense, the world’s largest consumer of energy, to make one of the largest commitments to clean energy in history — with the Navy purchasing enough capacity to power a quarter of a million homes a year.

He approved fewer regulations in the first three years of his presidency than his Republican predecessor did in his. He’s ordered every federal agency to eliminate rules that don’t make sense. His administration’s enacted more than 500 reforms, saving business and citizens more than $10 billion over the next five years.

He’s made it clear that big banks or financial institutions are no longer allowed to make risky bets with customers’ deposits. They’re required to write out a “living will” detailing exactly how they’ll pay the bills if they fail — because – thanks to the President – the rest of us aren’t bailing them out ever again. Mortgage lenders or a payday lenders or a credit card companies have been told the days of signing people up for products they can’t afford with confusing forms and deceptive practices are over. Today – thanks to the President – American consumers finally have a watchdog in Richard Cordray with one job: To look out for them.

He’s establishing a Financial Crimes Unit of highly trained investigators to crack down on large-scale fraud and protect people’s investments. Some financial firms violate major anti-fraud laws because there’s no real penalty for being a repeat offender. That’s bad for consumers, and it’s bad for the vast majority of bankers and financial service professionals who do the right thing. He’s challenged Congress to pass legislation that makes the penalties for fraud count.

He’s  asked his Attorney General to create a special unit of federal prosecutors and leading state attorneys general to expand federal investigations into the abusive lending and packaging of risky mortgages that led to the housing crisis. This new unit will hold accountable those who broke the law, speed assistance to homeowners, and help turn the page on an era of recklessness that hurt so many Americans.

I voted for him in 2008 because America couldn’t afford to continue the disastrous policies made famous under Bush/Cheney and which McCain/Palin had sworn to continue, and I will be voting for him again in 2012 because we, as a nation, cannot afford to go back to those same devastating policies which the GOTP primary frontrunners are saying they’ll support.

Unions aren’t the enemy

Recently Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential hopeful Willard Mitt Romney said he’s going to “push back” against so-called “federal teachers unions” in America; well, sorry to break it to Willard, but unions aren’t the enemy.

In fact:

If you get paid a living wage – you should thank a union member

If you work a 40 hour work week, and get paid overtime after that – you should thank a union member

If you get weekends off – you should thank a union member

If you get paid vacation time – you should thank a union member

If you get paid sick leave – you should thank a union member

If you have health care through your employer – you should thank a union member

If you get raises – you should thank a union member

If you have the right to arbitration in your work place – you should thank a union member

If you have retirement benefits – you should thank a union member

Conservatives love to bash unions in this country; they love to play the “blame game”, and unions are their favorite target, but without unions your life would be a lot different.

Business owners didn’t grant the above mentioned benefits to employees because of their great beneficence, they did it because of organized labor.

Conservatives love to blame the unions for our economic troubles but it wasn’t unions who drove the economy off the cliff during the Bush/Cheney years, and it wasn’t unions who created Governor Walker’s deficit problems; fact is only one group benefits from the destruction of labor unions in America and that’s the top 1% Republicans continuously try to protect.

If there’s an enemy in our economy it’s not the unions, it’s the uber-wealthy 1% hiding money in off shore accounts and claiming to be “job creators” while benefiting for the past ten years from massive tax cuts.

If you don’t like the aforementioned benefits, vote Republican, do it often enough and the day may come when you, or your children, won’t have them.

President Obama raises a lot more money than Romney

In spite of Conservative Talker’s efforts claiming President Obama’s losing favor with his constituents and his “lack” of fundraising supposedly being evidence of this, the Obama/Biden team reportedly picked up $45 million for its re-election bid in February, bringing total raised to about $300 million for this election cycle, compared to $11.5 million raised by Republican Tea Party (GOTP) hopeful Willard Mitt Romney for February; of course Romney burned through more than $18 million in January, winning 65 of 115 delegates at a cost of about $277,000 per delegate as he lost Iowa to Rick Santorum and South Carolina to Newton Leroy Gingrich, and while the President had to spend next to nothing in comparison; the President also raised $29.1 million in January compared to Romney’s $6.4 million.

But yeah, he’s nowhere near as popular as Romney …

Romney will push back against evil teachers unions

Self proclaimed “presumptive” Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential nominee Willard Mitt Romney is reportedly pledging to push back against those evil teachers unions if he’s elected president.

Romney’s comments came (where else?) in response to his weekly soft ball questions from the intrepid interviewers on “Fox News Sunday,” “But the role I see that ought to remain in the president’s agenda with regards to education is to push back against the federal teachers unions.” He continued, “Those federal teachers unions have too much power, in some cases, they overwhelm the states, they overwhelm the local school districts. We have got to put the kids first and put these teachers unions behind.”

Romney reportedly said he’d not “necessarily” eliminate the Department of Education, but said it may be combined with other agencies and its “reach” into the states has to be “pulled back.”

Yes, because the darned federal teachers unions (of which there are none) and the Department of Education are way too intrusive making sure children with special needs are taken care of along with that pesky Title IX nonsense. So, once again Romney’s elitist attitudes surface as well as his now famous pandering to the extreme right of the GOTP; one has to ask, does he really think the President can just dismantle a federal cabinet level position, especially one created by fellow “conservative” Richard Millhouse Nixon?

But wait, Romney’s criticism of teachers was aimed at blaming the nation’s “over-paid” educators for the failure of the abysmal No Child Left Behind Act.

“I support the principle of having states test their kids … I did support No Child Left Behind and do support continuing to test our kids,” he said. “I want to know which school districts are succeeding and which ones are failing and where they are failing. I want there to be action taken to get the teacher unions out and to get the kids once again receiving the education they need.”

Two points; first, one more reason not to vote Romney is he supported No Child Left Behind; and second, how are you going to take “action” against “failing” school districts as president if you curtail the Department of Education? Wow, if that’s not classic Romney double speak I don’t know what is?

Romney reportedly continued his criticism of those “federal” teachers unions later at a town hall meeting in Vernon Hills, Ill. “We should pay our beginning teachers more,” he said, according to Crystal Lake Patch. “The national unions are too interested in benefits for the older teachers.”

Yes, we wouldn’t want to take care of the experienced teachers, and any benefits they might need for their eventual retirement. Exactly when did uber-conservatives decide teaching was some cushy job with loads of benefits? Clearly anyone who thinks that way has never spent any serious time teaching in the classroom, certainly Romney never has. Once again Willard’s hitting for the far right field fence, trying to score points with the ubers.

Romney’s six home plague

With news breaking that Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential hopeful Willard Mitt Romney wants to once again expand one of his six (yes I said six) homes; reportedly an already very expensive sea-view spot in La Jolla, California, GOTP voters, pundits, fellow candidates and opponents are reminded of a supposedly “apocryphal” tale from the 2008 presidential campaign involving Romney’s multiple homes.

The story goes, when John McCain was looking for his VP pick, allegedly Romney was on the short list of his possible vice presidential running mates. But during the very week they were considering him, McCain created a headache for his campaign by blithely asserting in a press interview that he didn’t know how many homes he and his wife owned. It turned out that the correct number was eight. So, here was the GOTP presidential nominee with eight homes and one of the leading VP picks with six – yeah creates a bit of a wealth gap.

The “I’m too rich for the rest of you” image continues to plague Romney and he doesn’t seem to care, throwing out seemingly endless quips and dropping names as though no one would notice. When asked by FOX PAC anchor Megyn Kelly about the problem with appearing too wealthy. His answer: “Guess what? I made a lot of money.”

Romney’s personal real estate includes six homes: one in La Jolla, two in the Boston area, a ski lodge in Utah and two lakeside residences in New Hampshire.

But Willard doesn’t get it; the majority of the country doesn’t own a home, much less six, and many who do are struggling to keep their homes. The “Guess what? I made a lot of money” resounds of “let them eat cake”; and it’s bound to continue to haunt, if not to outright bite Romney.

Latest 2012 Presidential Polls – (pre-Missouri Caucus) 16 Mar 12 Edition

Willard Mitt Romney got his lunch handed to him this week in the deep south where clearly Republican Tea Party (GOTP) voters didn’t buy his “How y’all doin?” nonsense. Romney came in third in both Alabama and Mississippi, falling in behind Santorum and Gingrich, but he won Hawaii and American Samoa.

In Alabama’s Proportional Primary Rick Santorum took first (19 delegates); Leroy Newt Gingrich took second (12 delegates) Romney limped into third (11 delegates) and Ron Paul came in his traditional last place (0 delegates).

In American Samoa’s Proportional Caucus Romney took first in the strong Mormon island winning all 9 delegates.

In Hawaii’s Proportional Caucus Romney again took first (9 delegates) Santorum took second (5 delegates) Paul took third (3 delegates) and came in dead last (0 delegates).

In Mississippi’s Proportional Primary Santorum took first (13 delegates) Gingrich was second (12 delegates) and Romney came in third with fewer votes (12 delegates) and Paul was again last (0 delegates).

Next up is Missouri’s Non-Binding Caucus – 17 Mar 12 (52 delegates): PPP (D) poll of registered voters conducted 27 – 29 Jan 12; Gingrich 30; Santorum 28; Romney 24 and Paul 11.

The regular season records for the dauntless candidates: Romney 19; Santorum 9; Gingrich 2 and Paul 0 with Maine still unbelievably yet to be determined.

The GOTP Delegate Count to date is: Romney 496; Santorum 236; Gingrich 141 and Paul 66.

The current GOTP Popular Vote Count is:

Romney 3,477,020

Santorum 2,286,339

Gingrich 2,106,200

Paul 949,914

Nationally the GOTP Nomination according to the latest Gallup Tracking poll of registered voters conducted 10 – 14 Mar 12: Romney 35; Santorum 27; Gingrich 15 and Paul 10 with 13% undecided.

So, how does each of the Four Horseman of the GOPocalypse stack up against the President? The latest FOX News poll of registered voters conducted 10 – 12 Mar 12; if the general election were held today:

President Obama 46/Romney 42

President Obama 51/Santorum 39

President Obama 53/Gingrich 35

President Obama 50/Paul 38

If the GOTP clown car had finally stopped spinning, and the general election was held today, Willard Mitt Romney would be the GOTP nominee, and he’d lose to President Obama in the general election.

Latest 2012 Presidential Polls – (pre-Alabama and Mississippi primaries) 12 Mar 12 Edition

Willard Mitt Romney has added, little-by-little, to his delegate lead in the past week for the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential nomination, sweeping his opposition in the Northern Marianas’ Non-Binding Caucus (9 delegates); Virgin Islands’ Non-Binding Caucus (7 delegates) and Guam’s Non-Binding Caucus (9 delegates) taking home a whopping 24 non-binding delegates, meaning they can switch at the convention; but he had his lunch handed to him in Kansas.

Speaking of the Sunflower State, Rick Santorum won a devastating victory over Mittens, taking home 33 delegates from the Kansas Hybrid Primary to Romney’s 7.

Newton Leroy Gingrich won zero delegates out of the last four primaries and caucuses; while Ron Paul garnered one delegate from the contest in the Virgin Islands.

And so the fight heads towards the Deep South:

In Alabama’s Proportional Primary – 13 Mar 12 (50 delegates): a new PPP (D) poll of likely voters conducted 10 – 11 Mar 12; Romney 31; Gingrich 30; Santorum 29 and Paul 8.

American Samoa’s Proportional Caucus – 13 mar 12 (9 delegates): no polling data available

In Hawaii’s Proportional Caucus with 20 delegates: PPP (D) poll of registered voters conducted 13 – 16 Oct 11; Romney 24; Gingrich 8; Paul 4 and Santorum 1.

In Missouri’s Non-Binding Caucus – 17 Mar 12 (52 delegates): PPP (D) poll of registered voters conducted 27 – 29 Jan 12; Gingrich 30; Santorum 28; Romney 24 and Paul 11.

Puerto Rico’s Winner Take All Primary – 18 Mar 12 (23 delegates): no polling data available

In Illinois’ Direct Election Primary – 20 Mar 12 (69 delegates): Chicago Tribune poll of registered voters conducted 7 – 9 Mar 12; Romney 35; Santorum 31; Gingrich 12 and Paul 7.

In Louisiana’s Proportional Primary – 24 mar 12 (46 delegates): Clarus Research poll of likely voters conducted 20 – 22 Nov 12; Gingrich 31; Romney 23; Paul 6 and Santorum 0.

The regular season records for the dauntless candidates: Romney 16; Santorum 7; Gingrich 2 and Paul 0 with Maine still unbelievably yet to be determined.

The GOTP Delegate Count to date is: Romney 455; Santorum 199; Gingrich 117 and Paul 64.

The current GOTP Popular Vote Count is:

Romney 3,203,592

Santorum 1,974,351

Gingrich 1,832,322

Paul 904,503

Nationally the GOTP Nomination according to the latest CBS News/NY Times poll of registered voters conducted 7 – 11 Mar 12: Santorum 34; Romney 30; Gingrich 13 and Paul 4 with 19% undecided.

So, how does each of the Four Horseman of the GOPocalypse stack up against the President? The latest ABC News/Wash Post poll of registered voters conducted 7 – 10 Mar 12; if the general election were held today:

President Obama 47/Romney 49

President Obama 49/Santorum 46

If the GOTP clown car had finally stopped spinning, and the general election was held today, Rick Santorum would be the GOTP nominee, and he’d lose to President Obama in the general election.

Mathematically Improbable for Romney to win nomination

Being somewhat of a politics-geek I’ve been thinking why the Romney camp’s pushing the idea he’s the sole inevitable winner of the Republican Tea Party (GOTP) nominating process; the only answer I can come up with is because he’s nothing of the kind and they’re trying to weaken his opponent’s base. They’ve come to understand the longer Rick Santorum and Newton Leroy Gingrich hang on the fewer delegates their guy wins.

If you run the numbers – specifically the number of delegates yet to be won – it’s abundantly clear Romney’s the only one who can still win the nomination outright prior to the GOTP convention 27 – 30 Aug 12; but it’s not very clear at all if he’ll be able to do so, in fact the odds are fast becoming anything but in his favor. There are 878 delegates left to be picked up by the candidates and 1,144 needed for victory; Romney’s picked up 455 delegates to date and still needs to pick up 691 delegates to win, or roughly 80% of all the remaining delegates. If you eliminate the “winner take all” primaries won so far he’s averaging about 33% of delegates, and that’s not going to get it done; even if he wins all the “winner take all” primaries – which he may, but is doubtful – if Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich remain in the race it doesn’t look probable for Romney, and thus a brokered convention is looming more and more on the horizon.

There are 126 so-called “super delegates” available at the GOTP Convention, made up of state chairs and additional RNC types, but they’re not necessarily going all to Romney, especially considering his “popularity” within the party; even if we were to count all the super delegates to Mitt, he only takes the nomination at that point by a mere 50 or so delegates. Santorum or Gingrich could very much act as spoilers sending this into a brokered convention. At any rate, it’s not a foregone conclusion that Mitt’s the nominee. Not just yet.

Of course the only possible way for Santorum to win now is in a brokered convention and that’s what he’s aiming at, he knows he can’t win any other way; Newt’s reason for hanging on is pure and simple, he hates Romney’s guts for the character attacks following the South Carolina primary; so at this point it’s all about keeping Romney from winning. Ron Paul’s still hanging in there but he’s pretty much inconsequential, basically just siphoning off delegates here and there. Romney’s basically in a begging position where he needs the others to fall out.

Latest 2012 Presidential Polls – (pre-Kansas Caucus) 9 Mar 12 Edition

Super Tuesday has come and gone, that magic time every four years when cat fights turn to dog fights, when the dust is thick and heavy and when it clears there’s usually a clear indicator of who will win their party’s nomination – usually. But this year it’s different, this year we have the hybrid Republican Tea Party (GOTP) types running to the polls to decide for which of the four horsemen of the GOPocalypse they hope will win the presidential nomination. So, how’d they score?

Romney won Alaska’s Proportional Caucus (8 delegates), Idaho’s Non-Binding Caucus (32 delegates), Massachusetts’s Proportional Primary (38 delegates) and Ohio’s Proportional Primary (35 delegates), Vermont’s Hybrid Primary (9 delegates) and Virginia’s Hybrid Primary (43 delegates); additional delegates won = 43; total delegates won = 208

Santorum won North Dakota’s Non-Binding Caucus (11 delegates), Oklahoma’s Proportional Primary (14 delegates) and Tennessee’s Proportional Primary (25 delegates); additional delegates won = 34; total delegates won = 84

Gingrich won Georgia’s Proportional Primary (42 delegates); additional delegates won = 26; total delegates won = 68

Paul won = 21 delegates

So, what’s coming up next on the candidate’s radar?

10 Mar 12 we’ve got the Northern Marianas’ Non-Binding Caucus with 9 delegates; Virgin Islands’ Non-Binding Caucus with 9 delegates and Guam’s Non-Binding Caucus also with 9 delegates, and there’s no polling data for any of these contests.

Kansas’ Hybrid Primary – 10 Mar 12 (40 delegates): no polling data available

Alabama’s Proportional Primary – 13 Mar 12 (50 delegates): Ala. Education Assoc. poll of likely voters conducted 1 – 6 Mar 12; Romney 31; Santorum 22; Gingrich 21 and Paul 7.

American Samoa’s Proportional Caucus – 13 mar 12 (9 delegates): no polling data available

Hawaii’s Proportional Caucus with 20 delegates: PPP (D) poll of registered voters conducted 13 – 16 Oct 11; Romney 24; Gingrich 8; Paul 4 and Santorum 1.

Missouri’s Non-Binding Caucus – 17 Mar 12 (52 delegates): PPP (D) poll of registered voters conducted 27 – 29 Jan 12; Gingrich 30; Santorum 28; Romney 24 and Paul 11.

Puerto Rico’s Winner Take All Primary – 18 Mar 12 (23 delegates): no polling data available

Illinois’ Direct Election Primary – 20 Mar 12 (69 delegates): The Simon Poll/SIU poll of registered voters conducted 11 – 16 Oct 12; Romney 21; Gingrich 8; Paul 7 and Santorum 2.

Louisiana’s Proportional Primary – 24 mar 12 (46 delegates): Clarus Research poll of likely voters conducted 20 – 22 Nov 12; Gingrich 31; Romney 23; Paul 6 and Santorum 0.

The regular season records for the dauntless candidates: Romney 7; Santorum 3; Gingrich 1 and Paul 0 with Maine still unbelievably yet to be determined.

The GOTP Delegate Count to date is: Romney 404; Santorum 165; Gingrich 105 and Paul 61.

The current GOTP Popular Vote Count is:

Romney 3,194,834

Gingrich 989,187

Santorum 956,245

Paul 479,835

Nationally the GOTP Nomination according to the latest Gallup Tracking poll of registered voters conducted 3 – 7 Mar 12: Romney 37; Santorum 23; Gingrich 12 and Paul 11 with 17% undecided.

So, how does each of the Four Horseman of the GOPocalypse stack up against the President? The latest Rasmussen Tracking poll of registered voters conducted 5 – 7 Mar 12; if the general election were held today:

President Obama 48/Romney 44

President Obama 50/Santorum 42

If the GOTP clown car had finally stopped spinning, and the general election was held today, Willard Mittens Romney would be the GOTP nominee, and he’d lose to President Obama in the general election.
