Limbaugh claims Candy Crowley committed an ‘act of journalistic malpractice’?

So Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential footnote Willard Mitt Romney has his lunch handed to him on national television by the President of the United States and uber-right wing radio blowhard Rush “Rusty” Hudson Limbaugh III’s assessment is debate moderator Candy Crowley was biased towards President Obama

Rusty was especially outraged over Crowley’s fact-check of Mitt Romney on Libya, and bellowed she “kept feeding” Obama lines and interrupted Romney a total of twenty-eight times.

“In the real world, she would’ve committed career suicide last night,” he bloviated. “In the real world — in the media world I grew up in, her career would be finished.”

But wait, Rusty wasn’t finished, “She committed an act of journalistic terror or malpractice last night. If there were any journalist standards, what she did last night would have been the equivalent of blowing up her career like a suicide bomber. But there aren’t any journalist standards anymore. And she’s going to be praised and celebrated, probably even get a raise, give her another half hour on that show she hosts.”

In what world of reality is Rush Limbaugh qualified to comment on someone’s journalistic standards? First of all, one would need to have standards in order to judge someone else’s, and secondly, well, one would need to have standards in order to judge someone else’s.

Ryan makes bogus photo op stop at soup kitchen?

Sometimes politicians do stupid things, sometimes they take advantage of situations for political gain by having pictures taken with different groups or individuals, such as with veterans or school children, but according to news reports Republican Tea Party (GOTP) vice presidential wannabe Paul Ryan – the author of America’s own austerity plan – has stooped to new levels when his campaign stopped at a Youngstown, Ohio soup kitchen and reportedly, “ramrodded their way” in so the GOTP candidate could get his picture taken washing dishes in the dining hall.

Brian J. Antal, president of the Mahoning County St. Vincent De Paul Society, told the Washington Post he wasn’t contacted by the Romney campaign ahead of the Saturday morning visit by Ryan, who “stopped by” the soup kitchen after a town hall at Youngstown State University presumably to soften his Grinch-like persona by doing a little “charity” work.

“We’re a faith-based organization; we are apolitical because the majority of our funding is from private donations,” Antal said in a phone interview. “It’s strictly in our bylaws not to do it. They showed up there, and they did not have permission. They got one of the volunteers to open up the doors.”

“The photo-op they did wasn’t even accurate. He did nothing. He just came in here to get his picture taken at the dining hall,” he added.

According to the press pool reporter accompanying Ryan, the group stopped by the soup kitchen for about 15 minutes on its way to the airport after his Saturday morning town hall in Youngstown. But, by the time they arrived, the food had already been served, the patrons had left, and the hall had been cleaned.

Ryan, his wife and three young children greeted and thanked several volunteers as they entered the soup kitchen, then put on white aprons and offered to clean some dishes. Photographers snapped photos and TV cameras shot footage of Ryan and his family washing pots and pans that “did not appear to be dirty.”

Allegedly, at least according to an unnamed Romney aide – who wasn’t authorized to “speak publicly about the event” – the campaign followed its usual protocol for “impromptu, on-the-road stops by candidates”, meaning they assume whatever they want to do is going to be OK because after all they’re rich, wealthy republican candidates and can do whatever they wish. A staffer was allegedly dispatched to the St. Vincent De Paul Society ahead of Ryan’s visit Saturday morning and spoke with a woman in charge on site, who allegedly said it would be fine for the congressman to stop by. The woman on site allegedly told the Romney staffer some of the volunteers had already left, but most were happy to remain until Ryan arrived, according to the aide. After Ryan left the soup kitchen, the woman allegedly approached a campaign staffer and expressed gratitude for Ryan’s visit, the aide said.

Chris Maloney, Ohio communications director for the Romney campaign, said the visit by Ryan had been intended to “highlight the work of the soup kitchen volunteers.” So, that’s why we took bogus pictures of the congressman and his family washing already clean dishes to demonstrate just what a wonderful job the soup kitchen volunteers were doing?

Antal said the soup kitchen relies on funding from private individuals who might reconsider their support if it appears that the charity is favoring one political candidate over another.

“I can’t afford to lose funding from these private individuals,” he said. “If this was the Democrats, I’d have the same exact problem.”

He added that the incident had caused him “all kinds of grief” and that regardless of whether Ryan had intended to serve food to patrons or wash dishes, he wouldn’t have allowed the visit to take place, which might be why the campaign didn’t contact him, but just barged in.

“Had they asked for permission, it wouldn’t have been granted. … But I certainly wouldn’t have let him wash clean pans, and then take a picture,” Antal said.

It’s shameful, disingenuous and incredibly spurious for someone like Paul Ryan to take his family into a soup kitchen in an effort to make himself look like a “compassionate conservative” when he’d cut funding to help the poor in a heartbeat is beyond contempt; it’s another example of what the Romney/Ryan ticket isn’t rather than of what it is. Ryan’s not just a liar he’s also a phony.

Robertson pushes man to become Muslim so he can beat his wife?

Right wing lunatic televangelist Pat Robertson’s at it again, proving he’s quite a few words short of a Bible verse; this time, Pat’s focused his indignation on wives who fail to “properly obey” their husbands.

Earlier this week, during a broadcast of Robertson’s television show “The 700 Club,” he answered a question from a viewer named Michael about how to repair his marriage to a woman who “has no respect for me as the head of the house.”

Rev Pat’s response?

“Well, you could become a Muslim and you could beat her,” he declared while co-host Terry Meeuwsen giggled.

But wait, there’s more.

“I don’t think we condone wife-beating these days but something has got to be done to make her learn to submit to authority,” Pat said.

So, let me get this straight, “we don’t condone wife-beating these days” means in Robertson’s world it used to be condoned?

But, since Christian scripture doesn’t allow for divorce, Rev Robertson urged the man to “move to Saudi Arabia,” where, ostensibly, beating the woman would be permissible.

Even with all his past out bursts Robertson remains someone Republican Tea Party (GOTP) Willard Mitt Romney likes to appear with him at campaign events, and so far there’s been no word from the Romney campaign to distance himself from the minister of wacko; why? Well, Willard needs the right-wing evangelical vote to even remain competitive, but he’s selling his political soul for votes he’s likely to already get anyway.

Romney claims releasing his tax returns would violate his religious privacy?

Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential wannabe Willard Mitt Romney’s come up with yet another excuse for not releasing his tax records to do so he claims would violate his religious privacy.

“Our church doesn’t publish how much people have given,” Romney recently told Parade magazine. “This is done entirely privately. One of the downsides of releasing one’s financial information is that this is now all public, but we had never intended our contributions to be known. It’s a very personal thing between ourselves and our commitment to our God and to our church.”

Yeah, well that’s all very nice, except it’s a load of garbage. For one thing, everyone already knows how much he’s donated to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, well at least for one year, because he’s already released one of his returns – well at least part of one, so his whole, “It’s a very personal thing between ourselves and our commitment to our God and to our church,” doesn’t exactly fit this running for president scenario.

Of course if Romney’s claim had any religious validity to it, then why did his father release twelve years worth of tax records when he ran for the Republican nomination in 1968, which by-the-way detailed how much he’d given to the Church during those years?

Then there’s also the point another politically prominent member of the Church, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s called on Romney to release his tax records, as has Jon Huntsman Sr., who reportedly publicly told Willard he needs to release his returns so he can be “square with the American people.”

It’s indeed time for Romney to “be square with the American people”, and to man up and release his returns, that is if he wants the whole mess to go away and if he has any serious – or at least rational – thoughts of becoming president. The American people have grown weary of secrets, especially from conservative elitists who think we can’t handle the truth and to trust them because they know what’s best. Paging “Brother” Romney, the transparency bus is outside honking its horn, get on, or get out of the way for serious candidates who aren’t afraid of letting the voters see their tax records.

Hank Williams Jr. says President’s a Muslim who hates Cowgirls?

Former ABC Monday Night Football songster and has been country star Hank Williams Junior’s apparently at it again repeating his anti-Obama tirade during a performance over the weekend bloviating, “We’ve got a Muslim for a President who hates cowboys, hates cowgirls, hates fishing, hates farming, loves gays, and we hate him.” According to the Dallas Sun, the crowd responded – big surprise – with a loud cheer.

Along with washed up rocker – and Vietnam War draft dodger – Ted Nugent, they’ve become the faces of the modern Republican Tea Party (GOTP), something to really be proud of. The party of Reagan has become the party of white racist homophobes – just another reason why I’m a Democrat.

Romney Makes Birth Certificate Joke?

According to news reports, Republican Tea Party (GOTP) presidential hopeful, Willard Mitt Romney made a joke about his birth certificate at a rally in Michigan while trying to make a connection – any connection – with his home state. Reportedly Willard said, “No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised.”

Wow, really? Maybe no one ever asked you because you’re not black, and you don’t have an Islamic surname name?

Of course Willard’s attempt at levity received enthusiastic applause from his audience, but then again these are the same kinds of people who cheered executions in Texas as well as the hypothetical death of a man with no health insurance during the GOTP primary debates.

The President’s campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt said Romney was embracing the most extreme elements in the conservative movement.

“Throughout this campaign, Governor Romney has embraced the most strident voices in his party instead of standing up to them,” he said. “It’s one thing to give the stage in Tampa to Donald Trump, Sheriff Arpaio, and Kris Kobach. But Governor Romney’s decision to directly enlist himself in the birther movement should give pause to any rational voter across America.”

Romney claims he believes President Obama was born in the United States, “I think the citizenship test has been passed. I believe the president was born in the United States. There are real reasons to get this guy out of office,” he told Larry Kudlow in April 2011. “The man needs to be taken out of office but his citizenship isn’t the reason why.”

So, why make a lame joke about birth certificates then? Still trying to connect with the extreme right of the party perhaps? Worried they might vote for someone else? It was a brainless thing to do whatever the reason and makes him look desperate to everyone but his most ardent followers.

Congressman’s insults return to haunt him in new attack ad

Republican Tea Party (GOTP) Congressman Allen (Walter E. Kurtz) West’s been surrounded by controversy since he discharged his side arm next to the head of a prisoner in Iraq (he’d threatened to shoot the man moments before) and his mouth has gotten him into even more trouble since he was elected to Congress in 2010 as part of the so-called “Tea Party Revolution”, but now he’s under attack in a new ad featuring a cast of children reciting a litany of his “greatest hits”, featuring all the insults he’s leveled at everyone and everything liberal.

“You are not a lady,” says a little girl at the start of the ad.

“You are the most vile, despicable member of the Communist Party,” other children say. “You are a threat to the gene pool.”

“Get the beep out of the United States!” the first girl shouts.

The best – and the worst – part of the ad is that every one of those words have come out of Kurtz’s (West’s) mouth at some point in the past two years. For example, in July 2011, West (Kurtz) accused Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz of being “vile, despicable and cowardly” and said she was “not a lady” because she had questioned his stance on Medicare during a House floor debate; in the same month, he called supporters of the President “a threat to the gene pool.”

One of his most bizarre comments however came when he declared to a group of “supporters” (no doubt in a cave deep in the jungles of Cambodia) that as many as 81 House Democrats are members of the Communist Party.

But wait, that’s not all, Kurtz (West) also declared that President Obama and other liberals should “get the hell out of the United States of America.”

The very creative television ad, titled “Time Out,” was released by Patrick Murphy, West’s (Kurtz’s) Democratic challenger, who appears in the ad midway through scolding the former Army LTC (he had to “retire” due to the aforementioned “shooting” incident) for acting like a child, while in the background kids are playing on a playground.

“Allen West said all these things and worse. But bullying and name-calling has no place in the playground or in Congress,” Murphy says. “I’ll reach across the aisle and solve problems.”

“You need a time out!” says a little girl at the end of the ad, and that says it all; after everything “Congressman” West has said and done during his two years in House of Representatives  he clearly needs a time out, a permanent timeout from serving in Congress.
